2022: A year stained with the worst mass killing in Thailand’s history

Thailand suffered a day of unmatched carnage and cruelty in 2022, when a crazed individual entered a nursery on October 6.

The bloodbath that ensued was even worse than the shooting spree two years earlier in Nakhon Ratchasima that claimed 31 lives. Thirty-six people – mostly sleeping toddlers but also a heavily pregnant woman – were shot or knifed to death by a disgruntled ex-police officer in the small province of Nong Bua Lam Phu.

The slaughter ended only when former policeman Panya Khamrab, who had been sacked over drug charges, shot himself dead after killing his wife and stepson.

Calm before the carnage

On the morning of October 6, Panya reportedly quarreled with his wife and ended up going with his mother to his court hearing. He was charged with having one methamphetamine pill in his possession.

the human being  is maybe the most cruel predator on earth! animals kill to survive. unlike them, basically human beings have no need for killing each other

I never woke up with the desire to hurt or kill anyone. You're talking about an extremely small percentage of human beings. Apart from some "bad eggs", we get on quite well. I was bragging to a friend in New Zealand about how mass killings are rare in Thailand, remembering the Christchurch massace back in 2019 - that was a few days before this tragedy. It is so horrific it's hard to discuss it.

The worst?

We've conveniently misplaced our historic memory.

1957, 1965, 1971, 1973, 1976, 1992, 2010.

......and that's just contemporary times.

plz tell me where i'm talking specifically about killings in thailand? "the human being  is maybe the most cruel predator on earth!"
thailand  is not equal to "on earth", as far as i'm concerned.  what is happening in ukraine isn't
mass killing, to take just one example?

why are guns even manufactured anymore ? stupid humans.

if our current *system* we live in broke down this would change overnight. i am not speaking of you personally just society in general.

cut the electricity around the world and i am willing to bet there will be a whole lot of bad eggs develop quite quickly. society would fall apart very fast leading to what ?

peace love and happiness ? ????

a guy in the news last week didn't wake up with the desire to kill or hurt anyone.....then he found his wife in bed with another man.
