IMDB--What if Artificial Intelligence entered the criminal justice system? This series deals with a possible scenario. Considering this series was shot before Microsoft went public with their AI system and Google Bard is in hot pursuit, the makers could be said to have made a pretty impressive "prediction" of where AI is headed.

First half of season 2 of the Lincoln lawyer has dropped. I'm about 1/2 way through season 1 and find it quite entertaining. About as good so far as the earlier seasons of Goliath.

I thought I saw a movie called "Prisoner's Daughter", starring Brian Cox and Kate Beckinsale mentioned on here, but couldn't find it again.

 

However I did download it and watch it and thought it was pretty good, so stayed with it until the end and was pleased that I did.

 

On another note, on the BBC iPlayer I watched the movie, "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" because I had never seen the movie, although I did go to a theatre in Auckland to see a live performance, and although I never took to it, it had a cult following whereby the audience (often the same one over and over again) would show up wearing costumes pertinent to the show and I believe it was the same in the UK?

 

Anyway not my style so didn't watch it to the end; it was written by Richard O'Brien and starred Tim Curry, so it was very appropriate that they were appearing in a movie about Transylvanian transsexuals, when they both identified as exactly that a little later on.......transexuals, not Transylvanian!

I watched it a couple of nights back it's in Norwegian with English subs.

Not quite as good as Deepwater Horizon but It's still quite OK with good CGI, a little predictable toward the end.

Well the money was good and it was on the Elf petroleum platform in the Frigg field, offshore Norway and this was in 1976/77.

 

I did get "nuked" because the supposed "intercom" system on the platform which was being built, worked, but only intermittently and I stayed in my little work portacabin looking at some wiring diagrams and wondered why no one else had been around, when a couple of guys came through the door and asked me what I was doing there – – reason being that there was some radioactive testing of the pipe work going on where I was and we were not supposed to be anywhere near it, but I was! Nothing seems to have happened because of it though!

 

I wondered if they had done this because about a week earlier there was one huge explosion on the platform because some pipework exploded when they were doing a pressure test on it!

 

The accommodation was unbelievably bad with four of us in our own bunks in one quarter of a small portacabin, and it was bloody cold, but fortunately we had chosen the metal portacabin which was on a section of the deck under which the exhaust pipe from the standby generator (which actually ran all the time) was fixed, so the floor of our portacabin got quite warm taking the chill of the air.

 

I didn't mind the times in the Sahara desert, Nigeria and the couple of months spent on the Forties Alpha and Bravo platforms, but the Elf petroleum one was a nightmare.

I've just finished season 1 of Non mi lasciare (Don't Leave Me) and enjoyed watching it. It's crime drama set in Venice. Worth a look IMHO. It was mentioned a while ago in this topic by @recom273. I got it from 1337x.

I downloaded and watched a movie which didn't have a very high IMDb rating, but I thought I'd give it a go anyway. It was called, "Brooklyn 45" and although the movie was set in one room, there were aspects of it which I found intriguing, so I stayed with it until the end.

 

There were some critics who described it as a "horror" type movie, but there was only one gruesome scene and it, and I found the ending a little puzzling, but then was able to look it up online and satisfy my curiosity.

Hijack has climbed in ratings since before the first episode aired and IMHO is a must watch.

 

Obviously the IMDB Critics Reviews are unreliable and they tend to Initially misrepresent the true rating of a movie or series.

 

Originally I ignored this series until posted here.

Asteroid City dropped yesterday and I watched 10 minutes of it.

 

I couldn't get interested in it as it seemed a bit too much like sci- fi disaster Nope, on which I wasted an inordinate amount of time.

 

Its a pity though as Asteroid City stars Tom Hanks and Scarlett Johansson.

I found a movie of which I knew nothing about, called, "The Happy Prince" and it was about the final years of Oscar Wilde's life and starred Rupert Everett, Colin Firth and Emily Watson amongst others, and it was good, and although Rupert Everett carried the role very well, he also directed it, but the time and era changes in the film became a little confusing – – but well worth a watch IMO.

 

As a rider to that, it was a little more gritty than the film, "Wilde" which starred Stephen Fry, as it only concentrated on the last few years of Wilde's life.

Hablame de ti

 

A Mexican movie which shows a unique mixture of a gay coming out and messed up families sharing a lying Dad.

It evokes very conflicting emotions probably the majority negative so it kind of represents real life  A very unusual use of the American pie song. Mild recommendation.
