Great View Points around Phuket

Featured Replies

Driving from Karon to Chalong yesterday and I realised I really look forward to the vista you get from the top of Chalong hill.

As you crest the hill, the bay is spread out before you with boats, small ships and islands set on a lovely coloured sea.

As you go down the hill and curve to the left the view expands to allow you to see all of Chalong and up to Phuket town,

Just stunning.

Drive from Rawai to Patong after about 8pm along the coast road and the many squid boats off the coast with their ultra bright green flourescent lights are a view I've never seen anywhere else.

What are your favourites around the island?

Some that I like:

  • Khao Khad View Point - 7.71521, 98.38142
  • Khao Khad View Tower - 7.83471, 98.38366
  • Phuket View - 7.89174, 98.38192
  • Big Buddha - 7.82758, 98.31396

Black Rock is pretty awesome IMO.  Also the Dragon Campground in the same area.    You need to walk to get to both though.

I have made a video of nine viewpoints in Phuket:

However, my favourite viewpoints are a little norths of Phuket, in Phang Nga:

Samet Nangshe Viewpoint

Ao Tho Li Viewpoint

They both offer a fantastic view of Phang Nga Bay, especially in the morning:
