Australian man dies in what is believed to be road rage incident.

Banglamung – An Australian man who was an engineer died after a suspected road rage incident with a group of motorbike racers in the Pattaya area.

 

The Nongprue Police were notified of the accident last night (January 20th) at 11:30 P.M. on the Thung Klom – Tanman Road in Nongprue.

 

Police, emergency responders, and The Pattaya News arrived at the scene to find Mr. Graeme Foster, 59, an Australian national, lying near a power pole. He was unconscious and many bones were broken. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was tragically pronounced dead. Nearby, rescue workers found his damaged motorbike.

 

Mrs. Kittiyaphon Foster, 49, who is Mr. Foster’s wife, told Nongprue police that her husband was an engineer. Last night, Mr. and Mrs. Foster, along with their friends, were dining at a restaurant about one kilometer from the scene. At 11:15 P.M. they were heading back home. Her husband was riding his motorbike. His Australian friend was following him on a second motorbike. Mrs. Foster and her two daughters were driving in a car behind the two Australian men.

I'm wondering if this suspected road rage "incident" was actually just a challenge for a race, particularly as the farang had a "custom" bike, and he didn't stay on the track for very long. 

 

Maybe no road rage at all.

Very possible. That's why they need to find the kids on bikes and any other witnesses. Until then, it's all reasonable conjecture here.

 

Apart from the trolls with their mindless comments on his widow. The guy was a husband and a father so I hope when they fall off their bar stools and break their necks, it's picked up on The Pattaya News and posted here so we can have a right good laugh at their sad souls.

The explanations make no sense.  People were following him.  But no one knows what actually happened.  Even though others supposedly heard them arguing . And if he was being attacked.  People following behind him didn’t realize it.  And he had a few drinks but not drunk.

I just read the news article and his motorbike was posted.

Being sober on a motorcycle late at night is equal as dangerous, you might be sober but the rest is not.

True that....  the primary reason I avoid riding at night......   just too many drunks on the road.

 

By sticking to riding only in the day time I reckon the accident risk is at least halved.

I’d never ride a motorcycle in Thailand, especially after a few drinks with my dinner.
