One has to wonder was the first time?  Probably not.  Except on this occasion the Chinese woman bragged about it on Social Media.  She just ruined it for future Chines VIP guests.

Saw 3 flashy tourist buses escorted thru Pattaya by police car Saturday.

TAT has revised upwards it's estimate of Chinese tourists visits for 2023.

Based on a recent surge of inquiries regarding VVIP services TAT also has increased its estimate of spending per visitor.

In unrelated news the RTP

notes a surge in transfer requests to both tourist and traffic divisions.

Immigration and traffic are the preferred branches I think.

I imagine that they have insisted the chinese tours buy at least 1 bottle of 6 baht 711 water a day per bus

Such patrols by Thai plod are as useful as a chocolate condom. Friends house was gutted of everything when he was on a trip back to Australia when the police were supposedly looking after it. Even the wiring, water pipe and the staircase!!!! were stolen.

Ex girlfriend had a key?

No, it was the next door neighbour. He'd sold everything to fund his drug habit.

I had a pal who split with a live in.... during their time together she helped furnish the place...she picking, him paying. But she had kept all the receipts...... some month or so after they split, she turned up with a large truck, a few workmen, a policeman and judge's order and took everything... including AC's and the water pump! She tried to get the house too later but he survived that one!

If anyone think that those type of shenanigans will stop only deluding themselves, it will only cost more, same as at immigration every time they 'tighten' the rules...

Correct me if I am wrong but weren't the RTP were advertising these VIP 'escort' services online not so long ago?

I have a friend that has actually used this service from the airport to Pattaya.

It seems they are more bothered about being this being discussed by the Chinese and the resultant loss of face than anything else.

She would probably have got there quicker without the escort. I once had to collect the tennis player Anna Kournikova and take her to Pattaya, and we had a police escort. Problem was, they kept rigidly to the speed limit so the trip took longer.

If no receipts had been kept, who do you think would have kept it all? ????
