Another day, another Phuket cabbie doing his bit to further damage the reputation of the island’s taxi drivers. Police in Patong have charged a taxi driver after a video of him kicking over a parked motorbike went viral on social media.

The Phuket Express reports that the 45 year old taxi driver, named only as Sit, presented himself at Patong Police Station where he was charged with damaging another person’s property. The owner of the bike had filed a police report accompanied by CCTV footage of the incident.

 

It’s understood Sit told police the bike was parked in front of his taxi and he was in a hurry and kicked the bike in anger. The driver underwent drug and alcohol testing but no trace of either was found, according to the report.

It is very annoying when folk park their bike up against the bumper of your car, especially when there is plenty of room.

I think most of us have had the same experience on returning to your car...

More so when just get in car to drive away when some idiot wizzes in right on bumper.  Happen me in Patong last week.  I toot and shame here to move another place.

And its not rocket science to leave the other driver with enough room to get out when you park your bike.

With the steering locked, or being accused of damaging it, or it falls over whilst you trying to move a locked bike..........I don't think so, Dave...

You never moved a motor bike with a steering lock on in Thailand.

I never touch anyone's stuff, especially a locked bike, anyhoooo, why ask for trouble...........

Moving a parked bike that's obstructing is pretty normal in Thailand tbh. Don't think anyone would be angry
