snoop1130
PHOTO: Facebook/รวบ The authorities in the US are calling on a Thai woman who fled to Bangkok after she struck and killed a student with her car to turn herself in. Tubtim “Sue” Howson, a US citizen, fled the scene after the incident in Michigan, in which 22 year old Benjamin Kable died. According to a Coconuts report, at around 6am on New Year’s Day, Howson struck the Michigan State University student with her BMW, before fleeing the scene. Mr Kable subsequently died and on January 3, Howson fled the US on a flight to Bangkok. Michigan state sheriff Michael Bouchard has begun the extradition process and is urging Howson to turn herself in at the US Embassy in Bangkok. “Come back, go to the American Embassy in Thailand, do the right thing. You know things got worse because you left the country. You know extra charges were applied because you didn’t stop at the scene.” The victim’s father, Mike Kable, has expressed disbelief at Howson’s actions following the death of his son, who was studying electrical engineering. “Just the lack of empathy and humanity it would take and then to just plot your getaway. All we can do is cross our fingers that we get some justice.” Meanwhile, Thai police say they have not taken any action as they have yet to receive an extradition request. In the US, a felony arrest warrant has been issued for Howson, for failing to stop at the scene of a fatal crime. Authorities say she could face additional charges as a result of fleeing prosecution. If not thousands, hundreds of Caucasian Americans do the same through out the USA. Yes they are caught and prosecuted. So it is not a Thai mental make up. It is human mental makeup and some people can't resist it if they get a chance. 8 1 1

Why is everything left up to big joke to do? With the amount of press conferences he does each day to wallow in his admiration where does he actually find the time to chase down an arrest all these offenders. Yes it's ingrained in the Thais to some extent as in the old days you might get beat to death by the locals especially if you were at fault. In the US you are looking at serious prison time even if it wasn't your fault which would seem to be the case here.

The underlings that do that actual work get no recognition, it all passes up to the boss who ordered the work to be done and approved the results. Thomas KH
This poor young man's life cut short. Dying at 22 is just incredibly tragic. Popular Post mikeymike100
From the Yahoo article: "Howson arrived in Thailand on Jan. 5, and police said they started to trace her on Jan. 12 at the FBI’s request, finding her on Jan. 14 in the western province of Ratchaburi, where they suggested she turn herself in." “We did not arrest her. After she knew the facts, she showed the intention to accept the punishment in the U.S.,” he said. “This will be a good example for Thai society.” Amazing how they can spin this as a 'good example'? 3 1 1
