March 1, 20233 yr That HUGE land void is owned by the Singha family? Was told in the very near future it's to become a HUUUUGE EEEEE tower condo like that council estate callex Unix and another massive air conditioned mall like Terminal 21. Anyone else tracking?
March 1, 20233 yr Last year they either sold or leased a tiny little piece of it to someone who opened a cafe/bar by Dongtan Beach, beside the last building before Pattaya Park, the oddly narrow, white house. I've lived here for 20 years and that was the first change I've seen to that piece of land in all that time.
March 1, 20233 yr Seems a logical place for a big shopping mall, between Jomtien and Pratumnak. Bonus if the developer could be persuaded to fund a pedestrian bridge over Thappraya Road. There’s been much speculation about that mysteriously vacant plot of beachfront land for years, and I was well aware that I’d probably eventually lose some of my view when I bought in VT5. Convenience of a really big supermarket around the corner would be some compensation.

March 2, 20233 yr Yes i think definitely earmarked for the Pattaya Casino when it gets the go ahead, with an attached 5 star hotel.
March 5, 20233 yr Popular Post I keep a large condo near by which I don't use often. I enjoy my house at the dark side with a private pool and a big kitchen. A massive mall shall add to the value of my condo on the high floor. I was told new buildings here are limited to 8 stories, like the newish Welcome World Beach Resort.

What like the 67 story Grand Solaire or the 62 story Copacabana.

Almost identical view from my place, makes me homesick. Think the only way we’ll make money on our condos is if this imaginary development turns out to be a casino rather than a shopping mall.

To build something over 8 stories tall there are far more hurdles to jump than erecting a smaller structure, but it can be done as all the giant new buildings around the place attest. An EIA has to be carried out and approved, and I gather they're not cheap. Larger buildings will also probably be required to make a hefty contribution towards improving the local infrastructure, and maybe even having a green rooftop like VT7. For a company that can afford the megabucks needed to buy that piece of land, these are small beer, and no doubt they'd want to maximise their returns on the property by building big and tall. Think maybe the Hilton/Central Mall crossed with Copacabana, or a larger version of Terminal 21 with a casino attached.
