Thai Rath reported serious incident at a temple in Lopburi at the weekend where an ordination ceremony was taking place.

It happed at the temple of Wat Khao Saphan Nak in Huay Pong sub-district of the central Thailand province.

An extremely drunk man by the name of Wirachai, 47, drove a Toyota Camry into guests enjoying a "toh jeen" feast.

Around twenty people were injured with more than ten being taken to hospitals and the rest allowed to go home.

A 50 cm knife was recovered from the vehicle.

There was nearly 50,000 baht damage to tables and more to sound equipment.

Wirachai is having a feud with the organizer of the ordination ceremony, a man called Aphicart, and decided to take it out on his guests.

Wirachai was taken away by the Khok Samrong police after the incident at 9pm on Saturday.

The cops should have let the crowd deal with him.........

Attempted murder (20 counts). Simple as.

What will his punishment be? Almost certainly nothing to match the crime.

Sociopathic behaviour.

What's this gotta do with driving the car into people.

Not everyone has a pilot's license and owns an airplane.

Lopburi.......  amazing no monkeys were injured.

Hopefully the sound equipment was well and truly destroyed.

Lucky he was still alive when police arrived.

At least driven around the block a few times and later blamed GPS for dodgy coordinates.

Oh, how original!

Why do we see so many stupid pathetic posts like this?

Does anyone find them even slightly amusing?

Same poster in another topic

Nothing serious...a few wais should be ok.

It's long been the fashion, but usually unintentional and due to an inability to drive. It's quite unusual for someone to do it on purpose, at least in Thailand. It happens elsewhere, such as Berlin or Stockholm and other places by wannabe terrorists, who believe that mowing down people who are out for a stroll will somehow further the cause of their religion of peace.

Why oh why is the license plate pixelated? What should I buy in lottery now? ????

He may have more issues than just one with the organiser!!

That projected Thai cool-ness is only a thin facade in some that can get dissolved by alcohol fast and then it may escalate fast to attempted murder.

How can you target the innocent?

How can you target the innocent?

Poor education.

IQ around 80.

Cannot handle alcohol consumption.
Undiagnosed mental health issues.

Unable to control emotions.

No fear of punishment.

Jealousy and envy.

Easy access to weapons.

History of violence and/or unbalanced behaviour.

Etc.
