Thai Rath reported on the continuing love affair of star US YouTuber "My Mate Nate" - AKA Nate Bartling - and his wealthy girlfriend Ava, or Pawornwan Verapuchong.

 

Nate is one of the most recognisable faces in Thailand. A former travel blogger he now has millions of followers and makes five million baht a month from his YouTube channel.

 

But the burning question has always been - suggested Thai Rath - whether their love affair is for real or just for clicks.

 

Ava - who refers to Utah born Nate as "my prince" on her Instagram account where she has 600 followers herself - put that to rest after a visit to Nate's 15 million baht home for the cameras.

She said that Nate was very romantic and always surprising her with little gifts.

 

"It's true love and not for the cameras," explained the former Harrow International School student, granddaughter of a billionaire resort owner in Phuket.

 

She referred to Nate as Phee Nate throughout.

 

Everywhere you look in Nate's house are reminders of Ava.

 

Nate said she was a keeper and he wouldn't stray.

Nate is also in the good books with Ava's loaded dad - both reportedly love each other too.

 

Nate's followers were alarmed when he split up with his former girlfriend Look Mee a while back.

 

But now he seems to have found true love.

The media is encouraging this poor behavior.

i don't know much about Thai etiquette, but isn't putting his hand on her head as in that second photo considered bad manners?

I suppose we cannot begrudge his success too much.  Thailand is the hub of weird White guys finding some modicum of success which they might not be able to achieve back home, after all.

I don't think so if they are dating.  It can be seen as a sign of affection.  It depends on the person and the circumstances.

Some of these YTer make millions, others, more than enough vs being employed & underpaid for their abilities ... ????

That is an eye-popping revenue stream for one YouTube channel. 

If I would look like him, I would accept the first female creature which accepts me.

She's obviously not a 'true believer' as a definite no no, blocking one's air space above the head.

 

Does pertain more to strangers though, and certainly not someone you are supposedly intimate me.

Side note: Having 13.1 Million followers on Youtube is NOT a trivial thing. That is huge and the revenue his channel generates could easily be 150K USD a month.

I remember reading a lot about this clown here and in other media.

It was quite a media wave some years ago.

He speaks Thai very well and used that to make fools of Thai people on the street ("prank" style). Proving how stupid and uneducated they are.

Can't find a good word for him.

Even without the magic underwear, he'd be goofy.

 

Of course if he can get his girlfriend to tithe 10% of her inheritance, they'll build a garish temple in his honor back in Utah.
