Hua Hin bar scene is weird

Featured Replies

  • Popular Post

Hi there,

Not sure this is the right place to post this but I just had a look on the Hua Hin dedicated forum and it looks pretty serious. I don't wanna ruin everything with a post on bars there so I'm posting here. Mods know best so up to them.

Anyway. I went to the soi 80 bar area and was pretty disappointed. Super pushy girls when it comes to drinks there: it's really annoying coz it really makes you feel like they don't give a flyin' one about their customers. I might have gotten unlucky but that street doesn't feel very convivial to me.

Anyway. Where do you go for your beers in Hua Hin ? Any specific bar you like ?

I'm not too fond of this response.  It's rude.  The man asked a valid question and your answer wasn't responsive.  It was also snide.

Wanting to talk with prostitutes without even buying them a drink?   I know the perfect bar.   Your hotel room minibar with Thai Friendly.

  • I have read many of your posts over time and found many offensive. This is very much your style.  Very poor.

Don't like the town. Catch the train to somewhere better.

Soi 94 is the new Entertainment area instead of the Bintabaht road area on the east side of Highway 4.

You seem to be bit of a newbie.

The girls in most bars everywhere have a lady drink quota they need to reach.

You don't want to buy a lady drink do not engage.

Do not waste there time with chit chat.

Be almost rude. They will understand.

As for Soi 80 ...

Try new area Soi 94 .

Or the previous popular area adjacent to Hilton Bintabaht is my favourite.

Much more quiet in recent times.

Depends where you are staying and looking for.

Hua Hin is beautiful. Clean, uncrowded beaches. Great seaside restaurants, with excellent, friendly stuff. Wonderful hotels not far from the beach that aren't expensive. One even saw my elderly mother in law hobbling about, and gave us free rides to the beach in their mini truck, tho of course I tipped him. The Bluport is a great, relaxed mall that's a welcome departure from those of BKK.

All that being said, Hua Hin is a great place for bringing your wife or significant other, not a single guy. Heh. For that are the obvious other places.

would it make you feel better if i told you every bar girl love you so long time ? or maybe they feel they need a few quick drinks to deal with some customers ?

Hua Hin has never had good nightlife. If you want nightlife go to Bangkok or Pattaya.

I am sure there is a woman on Hua Hin for this man.

Ridiculous.

Hua Hin great joint for bars and live music.

Obviously moreso prior to covid but on rebuild now.

Have you ever been to Tawandaeng venue ?

Test question.

If,  and I assume you answer NO, then you don't know Hua Hin.

Yes they are.

I love the one in Udon Thani and HH is also good.

Dont understand any of your posts in many threads.

Perhaps OP in HH for other reasons.

Pattaya I would take for first timers for full exposure. Example Soi 6.

I live in Bangkok so many options there.

The OP asked specific question.

Some have addressed that.

You have not.

Hua Hin used to be a great spot for a single guy. There used to be alot of talent there. Now? Unless you like old, ugly or fat, there is not much to work with. It is a bit like being a prospector in the Klondike. You have to search hard for that one nugget.

The original Wonderland seems to be doing OK. The two new Wonderlands are hanging on by a thread.

I've spent a fair amount of time in Hua Hin. It does not compare anything like Bangkok, Pattaya or Phuket. It's different.

Soi Bintabaht is virtually dead these days. Panama Bar is good fun and possibility of freelancers. The Wonderland on the corner of Soi 94 and train tracks (where Isaan Station restaurant used to be) is nearest you'll get to an "entertainment zone". I quite like Soi 80 as it's pretty chilled, relaxed and fun in some bars. I'm older and don't expect too much. Anywhere in HH the P4P ladies can tend to be older - it's not Soi 6 Pattaya!

try taking some snacks or Chuggie Pops or sates/BBQs and buy a couple of drinks for some hotties...then report on AN...light those bored girls up for a few red notes

If you're looking for a "bar scene", forget Hua Hin and try Phuket or Pattaya. Trust me, I've lived in the three.

Hua Hin in my several trips there always appears to me to be dominated by older retired type Euro couples.  It has some nice beaches.  I do not much care for the layout with that big road running right through the middle sorta like a freeway.  I do not even go to the bars anymore as never had great time  in the old ones down near hilton. I was in HH recently and just couldn't';t be bothered to go to the new bar area as wasn't on the hunt and just as soon sit at a regular bar in HH and watch what walks by.

Prachuap kiri khan is short train ride away and is a much smaller more Thai adventure where if there are any girlie bars i have never seen them ...but a nice town with good beaches, cheap hotels, a nice weekend waterfront market etc.

I last went there decades ago and luckily I brought my own as the "night life" was worse that that in Chiang Mai, if that's possible!

I never cared if they talked to me or not, but never short of one volunteering to do so.

Unlike some other tourist towns in Thailand, HH doesn't have a great bar scene nor a bustling red light district, this is true. But late night shopping is is still good and a walk on the beach at night is very pleasant.

IQ seems to be pretty unevenly distributed on this forum. Sad.

Thanks to those of you who gave me a normal civilized answer. I appreciate it.

As for the others... :passifier:

Anyway, I went to Wonderland yesterday and it was roughly the same cynical mindset. The nightlife fauna here is pretty oblivious to the concept of hospitality. Take as much money as possible, as fast as possible. Prices are up, service is down. Great, very sustainable way of doing business.

Pattaya was kind of the same really. Girls constantly bothering you for more drinks. Making sure you're enjoying yourself isn't important. What matters is to squeeze as many drinks as possible out of you as fast as possible. Ended up going to Jomtien. That area was nice. A bit like Hua Hin but less boring and more welcoming.

Anyway, I digress. Will try the Hilton area later this week and then move on.

Thanks

  • 1 year later...

I have ben fortunate enough to travel most of Thailand from Songkhla to Mae Hong Som. I keep gavitating back to Hua hin.

I find the town endearing and it has enough bars to keep a single man like myself who likes both female and ladyboy company (not at the same time) occupied for the duration of my stay.

My only disapointment is that the only city served by Hua hin's airport is Chiang Mai so it entails a long road or rail journey to get there and leave there.

I was dissapointed to read the negative comments posted on this forum. Please do a little research before visiting if you have never been and to those of you that have visited the town why on earth did you return if you found it so distasteful.

Whilst most town in Thailand have a very few bars, even Hat Yai in the islamic south has half a dozen. Hua hin is blessed with an active P4P scene, fortunately it doesn't see the street fights and drunkeness common in the more popular resorts.

Each to their own I guess.
