Police believe a Phuket driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel after his minivan ploughed into a roadside guardrail. The Phuket News reports that the incident happened at around 5:40am yesterday, April 30, on the Patong to Kamala road.

Police and rescue workers from Kamala Tambon Administration Organisation arrived at the scene to find the minivan stuck on the guardrail. The uninjured driver, named as 33 year old Bundit Puchong, was waiting at the scene.

It’s understood there were no passengers in the minivan at the time of the collision.

Did they consider possibly maybe perhaps waking and asking the uninjured driver?

I think that it is more likely that the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel BEFORE his minivan ploughed into a roadside guardrail.

Thank the lord for small mercies.

Not new, maybe just overly optimistic that there maybe someone out there that doesn't feel the need to pick-up the phone immediatley when it sends a notification.
