Two questions: 1 - why is there a ban on alcohol sales when there is an election? 2 - why are they targetting foreigners (again) when the election has nothing to do with them?

Stupidity... tourists are not allowed to vote, and what is the main reason to ban alcohol sales for a day for a handling of that someone has to cross or color 1 small box on a paper....estimated time

If you on holiday do you not check what’s on the days you are there ?

I am sure if some can’t go with out alcohol for 24 hours they have an addiction problem.

There’s always a silly post like this which argues... ‘if you can’t to without booze you have a drinking problem’....

The fact is...  when many people go on holiday they want a cold one by the beach, or with dinner etc... that does not imply an ‘addiction problem’ to anyone other than half-witted judgmental fools playing the smart-<deleted> looking to point score on a thread such as this...

And no... Pretty much every time I go anywhere (Japan, Aus, NZ, Singapore, all of Europe etc) I don’t check whether thats a ‘dry day’ because the thought is as preposterous as the ban itself... it’d be like looking to checking if restaurants are closed at any period etc...  the idea just doesn't cross the minds of most normal people.

So.. I ask you Jumbo... When you first came to Thailand, did you actually check what the ’non-drinking’ days were ????

Imagine travelling to the Maldives... you arrive... go to the beach order a beer and are told, sorry, its the Maldives Elections... you are not allowed to have a beer !!....

... its one of the many ridiculous and utterly idiotic Thai laws.

no one ever complained

So why what caused the laws on the issue to change then? Magic?

Still no evidence of Thailand growing up then. :coffee1:

Everyone needs to be sober to hear the result that was in yesterday in all probability ????
