There are basically 2 flavors of Thai boyfriends in Pattaya:

 

Type 1: Happy that his Tilac goes with customers, as long as he gets paid. Accordingly, their behavior is mercenary, and the ladies can sense it. And so the ladies complain.

 

Type 2: Doesn't want his Tilac to go with customers, so she has to hide it, pretending to be a "drinks only" bargirl. Once this type realizes that his bargirl goes with customers, he either leaves or becomes Type 1. But a bargirl doesn't complain about Type 2s, until or unless they begin the transition to Type 1.

 

The efforts that bargirls employ to hide that they go with customers  is significant, especially if its Long Time. I went with a married lady to Malaysia last month, and it was tricky for her to explain her absence from Pattaya. I guess it worked, as we are going to Singapore next week.

 

But, yeah, sometimes its boyfriend talk all day long.

Of course, when their money is gone, so is their honey.

A couple of times, while at the stand-up bar, I dropped trou at about 2AM, while standing between several B-girls waiting for drinks.

 

I was wearing tennis shorts at the time, and I always go commando.

 

I had those girls laughing and rolling on the floor in no time.

 

My shorts were too far down around my ankles for me to grab.

And so, the girls did the honors.

 

It's amazing the things about B-girls one recalls towards the end of one's life.

This is unfortunately too common: what bargirls do when a customer dies. Usually this happens when the customer is back home, but sometimes the customer passes away in Pattaya.

His initial pitch was that he was selling his house and would have proceeds of 10 million baht, which he would give to her if she gave up working to live with him, presumably next year, with the possibility of marriage.

 

Based on his frequent online discussions of that arrangement, the bargirl talked with her Thai husband about how to accommodate the customer, and the husband agreed to do the legal divorce for one million baht cash. That must have been a difficult conversation, since the Official Story is that she is a drinks only bargirl.

 

Of course, it's a scam: the customer's goal is a cheap month with her. He's already backed off his claim that he is selling the house to give her ten million in cash, and now he is talking about buying a bar.

 

In the meantime, he is sending her small money in drips and drabs, and demanding she not go with customers. The latter didn't work, as she is in Singapore with me at the moment.

 

My advice to her is to evaluate the month long gig on its own merits, not to be enticed by promises of future benefits. Money talks, BS walks.

 

As for the Thai husband, she really has to walk back the divorce story. Hard to put that toothpaste back in the tube.

This may be a thing everywhere in Thailand, but a bargirl just went home because her family basically sold her as a wife to a wealthy Chinese man who happens to be the boss of the bargirl's father.

Due to her passable English, I assume she is a retired bargirl.

If you talk to older bargirls, you will discover that some have worked in other countries, when they were younger. Some worked massage, others worked condo in Korea, but most worked room in countries such as Malaysia, Bahrain, Hong Kong, or Singapore.

 

Working room means sitting alone in a room waiting for customers. Some establishments require the ladies to leave their room to do a lineup in the main area. But then go back to their room with a customer.

 

Working room for more than a month usually creates significant impacts on the ladies. I don't recall any lady who worked room, then went back to Thailand and had a baby. Part of the impact is psychological, being alone in a strange country. Soi 6 ladies have a life outside the bar, but not ladies who work room abroad.

Part of the impact is physical, getting pounded all day long for months on end.

 

So, if you meet a bargirl who has worked room in another country, she may not be eager to do much when you take her back to the hotel.

Looking for cash: these are typically younger, offering sexy photos for baht. Sometimes no photos, just sad stories. Some may be older ladies or men catfishing.

 

Better to avoid these.

 

Bargirls often post photos of themselves on social media - if they are in an elevator OR from a hotel balcony, its a statement to other bargirls that they have a customer.
