Dangerous political flux in the aftermath of the General Election is growing and poses a threat

If Thaksin returns and allies with MFP he'll use his political savvy to make sausages out of Pita.  On the other hand he's been away for 14 years, maybe the bulk of his connections are no more.

. . . amid a sharp upsurge in dangerous and divisive political rhetoric coming from conservative factions which aim to spread fear including serious accusations that the election was interfered with by western powers with one official even indirectly comparing the Move Forward Party to Germany’s National Socialist Party in 1933.

If not for the words "Move Forward Party" in that quote it sounds like something from the US.  (And some would call the last few words of the quote as a positive.)

Think it's about time they sink back to their exclusive caves.

It's over for them.

Maybe.

Here we have it black on white ...

Conservative forces means the old '  political elite ' .

The majority of the thai people voted for political change , they do not care .

It is like a network of filth everywhere in top positions , they all know each other , Judges , Politicians , Senators , Generals , the old ruling ' Elite ' .

Democracy ?  OK , but only if the outcome of ' Democratic ' elections suits them well ...

If not , they are well prepared  for this case , we will see judiciary procedures coming up ' en masse ' just to bend the election results into something that suits them ...

It is only a " pseudo democracy " here ( to fit in well with the perception of a non totalitarian state ) , but in reality this is just what it is .

Perhaps our state should be defined as an oligarchy with a progressive twist.....

Local TV presenters were saying it appears the shares were owned by his living father and were to be willed to Pita...to avoid future problems his father sold the shares!

If the 3rd, big power in the background, don't want this political change, it never will happened! Too closed ties to the military.

I am not so sure. I think that one of the things that happened when the "new order" was established was that a deal was struck with the regime which essentially limited power in exchange for behaviour being tolerated and access to wealth. One of the side effects of this was a major split within the armed forces, both within the Army ( long riven by factions) and between the Army and Air Force.

Dr Thitinan Pongsudhoc's article published today is excellent reading for grasping how the elite perpetuate power and how much of a threat MF poses to them
