The budget for these initiatives is set at 5 billion baht,

Job opportunities abound for those with: no Maths skills; a fertile imagination; sleight of hand when juggling money; their own pair of rose-coloured glasses.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has announced its plans for the fiscal year 2024, with a focus on growing off-peak customers, increasing spending per trip by 7%, and distributing income to a wider range of destinations. The budget for these initiatives is set at 5 billion baht, a significant increase from the 3.25 billion baht allocated for fiscal 2023

Best job in the country.

will be promoting fairness in revenue distribution through a “sharing economy”

What the heck does that mean anyway?

More double pricing I guess.

Alarm! wonder about the current location and final destination of the 5 billion is the first concern ????

Spent on what? Simply make visa exemption 90 days. Easy fix.

Any mention of TAT on this forum seems to trigger the same old bar stool reactions from the usual old aunties.

The reality is TAT has had amazing success bringing trillions of baht into Thailand and improving the lives of millions of Thai people directly and lifting the standard of living generally.

Other south east asian countries have beautiful beaches and are even cheaper than Thailand, but Thailand brings in more cash than all the others combined, Bangkok is extremely popular as are the islands etc.

This idea outlined in the OP is exactly what is needed. Thailand is recovering so much better and faster than most other tourist spots around the world.

Ironically the aunties posting were lured here because of TAT even if they dont realise it.

Thailand is a world tourism leader.

Suck it up girls.

France and UK are ahead of Thailand.

With so many amazing attractions Thailand should not have a high or low season.

TAT marketing needs better people in charge too achieve that.

High & Low season should be a myth .

One day your rose coloured glasses will clear and by then it will most likely be to late for you and like many become trapped. In your eyes I probably know nothing but with only first landing in Thailand in 2002, living island life on Kow Tow which then was a paradise (not anymore), living the Bangkok life and also rural southern Thailand and things are not rosey  at all. TAT are a joke, Thailand should be a holiday wonderland and not far off perfect but greed and theft of funds it regressed instead of progressed. Roads and infrastructure are non existent (being disabled and holidaying in Thailand is a no no then there is the Mafia in the form of police, taxi military and the risk of being attacked or bitten by rabid dogs or thai men oh and the deadly roads. If I did not have family there I would never set foot in the place but hay I know nothing.

Kho Tow has many more tourists than 2002. How is that not success from Thailand's point of view?

Are you seriously saying you believe Thailand's tourist numbers will be lower in 2030 than 2019?

Many years ago low season here in Phuket used to be full of Aussies, Come to think of it we have not had any Aussie guest for a couple of years, are they all going to Bali?

Spend a bit increasing the policing of the out of control taxi business, definitely a put-off for tourists.

Where is Kho Tow? I've been to most of the Thai Islands but never heard of this one.

Aussies are squeezed by high cost of living and high mortgage repayments. The best destination is the nearby council park.

New government should just shut TAT down. It would save billions and lm guessing not a soul will miss it. It's just a sinkhole for money. Phony campaigns just ruse to syphon money.

Link to the TAT website to give those clearly without a clue an education lesson on its promotional activities both at home and abroad. I don't suppose most posters have much of an idea or care what Tourist Authorities do in their own countries, which makes it all the more surprising TAT stirs their ire here.
