Featured Replies

Anyone heard anything about this?

I was told that due to a major repair electric will be off from 00:90 - 04:00.

Maybe someone can translate attached to see if correct:

In Thai it says the same 00:00 - 4am

That will be nice! No aircon, no fan and a lot of mosquitos

It doesn't look like it is island-wide on the map in your other thread.

And food being nicely warmed up in the fridge.

This is why we should all have solar.

You can get fans that have solar panels with a battery that if fully charged first will last about 4 hours.  These fans can also be charged using electricity.  They are not as good as regular fans but will get you through it.

This is one example:

I read that as early this morning but I had no issues over my electric being out as stated unless they mean Thursday night but as it’s from 00.00 than would be the 16th and not the 15th

This is why we should all have solar.

Here East of Pattaya we have at least once a month power off from 8.30am till 5pm, and that is in the middle of the day.

Excuse is that they are doing maintenance, though that still doesn't prevent several shorter power outages in between those maintenances.

In fact, in the past year they have done a lot of upgrades, yet the situation has never been this bad.

Pre-warned so just buy some bags of ice and leave them in your fridge, turn down the temp of the fridge a couple of hours before. You are lucky where I live it goes of 9am till 5pm when major upgrades are carried out, my fridge stays fairly cold. and I can run up to 500 watt from my car if need be.

It was not island wide. Don't believe the Bar Talk.

It was a small proportion of the island round Banrack and Chaweng.

My area was not affected.

Wasn't bar talk. Rather a misunderstanding between a Thai and a foreigner. I did think I had edited it out a few minutes after posting it once I saw the map, but as I said, I was doing it on my phone and my eyes are playing up, so somehow the edit didn't save.
