Criminal record and fake degree. He must have known these may have got him disqualified. I have now worked it out: he was a member of the right party! A government affiliated company I used to work for had dealings with this 'person', and ended up appointing one of his subordinates to the board. The subordinate, completely useless in the business development role he was appointed to, then stole tens of millions of the farang owner's personal assets and company assets from under the owner's nose, in corroboration with the owner's 'trusted' Thai director. The farang owner was a complete mug though, could not get over his own ego and hubris.

Popular Post traveller101
Hmmmm - he declared an annual income just short of 5 Million Baht. His declared assets the equivalent of approx. 200 times his annual income. I wonder if the Anti-Corruption Commission in its valiant effort to provide transparency asked the Gentleman to kindly explain the discrepancy. Rhetorical question 2

Popular Post tomacht8
Those are enormous sums. Over 1000 million baht. It would make sense if the Anti-Corruption Commission would compare the information with the tax returns of the last 10 years. 1
Popular Post Sydebolle
Many years ago I attended a wild party and, well, had it with a parrot. Seeing the picture of Thammanat I was wondering, if he is the result of that wild party ............ One billion Baht - nice going for a doctorate from a laundry shop in California who spent four years in an Aussie slammer for a miracle of leaving Thailand with flour just to arrive down under with illegal powdery stuff ........ As long as you have such creatures around (I also saw that Chalerm was popping up again) ....... good luck Thailand! 1

I don't see it like that. A few months ago my son was with some old friends, I know all of them, all very balanced and intelligent people. They all speak good English. They were watching the late night news on TV. There was a segment on the jail bird and his curent activities as an 'advisor' to the PM. One of sons buddies looked at me and said 'he is a very bad man', another said 'yes, bad and dangerous', another said 'and powerful and he's been in serious violence before'. I asked 'do any Thai people thinke he's a good man?' Instant response a loud NO from all present.
