BANGKOK, July 21 (TNA) The Move Forward Party has announced to hand over the leading role to Pheu Thai Party which came second in the election to form a new government.

It takes girl + boy to make a babies and trust me the girls are more eager to become a mom. They don't work..  they lay around all day on their phones.

Why should I trust you?

AFAICS you are neither a Thai nor a young girl, so please explain why they are lying around all day on their mobile phone.

I really hope not, but then again, i would not be suprised if we see Prayut come rolling in with his tanks and water cannons.

Well Prayuth is no longer an active general and AFAIK his army faction no longer hold the balance of power in the army.

Looks like PT is totally going back on its election promises

"Do brothers and sisters want us to join them? Over the past eight years, that’s enough,” Mr Srettha told the crowd in Loei.

“We have made clear that we will not join hands with the two parties that played a role in the military coup to plunder people’s sovereign power.

“We are a big ship while they are small boats rowing beside us. We don’t want them to stay close to us. Go a different way. We will certainly not join.”

So we will certainly not join.....is actually..yes we will join with the "small boats".

Are you speaking as the leader of the PTP as Srettha does not seem to agree with you.

BTW, which constituency seat did you win in the last election?

You are going to use some protection, or you are not gaining entrance. Am I making myself clear? The last thing in the world I need is a baby, that you won't take care of.

How about that for a start?

For a male the experience lasts only a few minutes, but for a girl it can last her lifetime.

I hope the Move Forward Party can take the long term view. All they need to do is hold it all together, be an effective and accountable oposition, and they will be able to govern in their own right after the next election. Pheu Thai is finished as a credible election force and their votes will shift to Move Forward.

quote "A week is a long time in politics",

Usually attributed to British Prime Minister Harold Wilson in the mid-1960s. Also used by (and incorrectly attributed to) Australian PM Gough Whitlam in the 1970s.

There are people on this thread talking about 4 years, let alone 1 week.

I wish I could see that far into the future.

Says a Westerner with Western logic attempting to superimpose that on a 15 year old up country farm girl who most likely has been drinking. Have you noticed that Thais in general are oblivious to consequences.

Well, I have noticed that most don't ask many questions with any real depth.

No reason for the current elites to throw in the towel.

Plus,... they have the ultimate card ,up the sleeve (to be used sparingly)

The military coup.

Btw..the new 'peogressive' elites will become as corrupt and scheming ,in due course.

As if you haven't witnessed it in a myriad other countries

You think Thais would accept another coup?

Foolishness!

The fact is the junta/elites have used up all their special cards and they have still lost.

It is over.

If Pheu Thai get flushed out as false supporters of democracy, all the better as it makes the voters choices in the next election crystal clear.

Assuming MFP haven't been dissolved by the next election...

Undoubtedly MFP will be dissolved and Pita banned for 10 years and maybe even imprisoned.  But the movement has shown the ability to regenerate and come back as something stronger and more coherent.  Dissolving two Thaksinite parties also had minimal effect.

Just another junta puppet... The Pheu Thai party clearly got the message that no relative of Thaksin need apply.

Doesn't have to be a thaksin in charge on paper the man is in charge as he is the money behind the party.

Sretha screws him thaksin will get revenge.  It could be a short run.  Remember the man wants to come home free.

He might get that with MFp help but military hates him too much

With Bhumjai Thai, UTN & prominent junta-appointed senators like Somchai Sawaengkarn saying no to Pheu Thai as long as they're still with Move Forward Party, the chance of MFP ending up in the opposition is now high to very high.
