Trump campaign slams ‘desperate and flailing’ new charges in classified documents case

Former President Trump’s campaign lashed out Thursday at new charges levied against him and his associates in his Mar-a-Lago classified documents case, calling it an attempt to harass Trump and those around him.

“This is nothing more than a continued desperate and flailing attempt by the Biden Crime Family and their Department of Justice to harass President Trump and those around him,” the campaign said in a statement.

“Deranged Jack Smith knows that they have no case and is casting about for any way to salvage their illegal witch hunt and to get someone other than Donald Trump to run against Crooked Joe Biden,” the statement continued.

 

Special counsel Jack Smith’s office has newly accused Trump of attempting to delete surveillance footage at his Mar-a-Lago property in June 2022. That brought two new obstruction charges against the former president. Prosecutors also added a co-conspirator, who they allege worked to delete the footage, as a new defendant in the case.

Trump also faces a 32nd count of willfully retaining national defense information, one more than the original indictment filed last month. 

The new count corresponds to a presentation Trump allegedly showed a book publisher and writer during a July 2021 meeting, which prosecutors described in court filings as a “[p]resentation concerning military activity in a foreign country.”

jack smith as a laugh at best, he has had several cases he has run overturned because they were absolute rubish, he has been rubbished by the supreme court before trumps add ons, all of them voted against smith even the dem appointments, he has an exceptionally bad name as he uses old laws and tries to widen what they actually mean to attack republicans then has them all overturned,the same will happen here as he is trying to widen what the statute actually means to suit himself, thing is because he only goes after republicans the dems love him even if he doesnt win, all they are trying to do is throw mud at trump before the election, will be interesting to see what happens especially if republicans win the next election then take the doj  for partisan charges etc, I can see a few dems facing charges out of all this garbage

It's the grifter amongst the candidates that keeps on asking for donations to fund his court cases. Even though these cases already seem to be funded by PAC's.
Maybe it is based on a deal with the DoJ? Trump gets charged so DoJ does what it has to do and Trump gets to make money out of it. ????

Trow mud? Think it is a bit more serious than that: Donald Trump risks 40 years in prison if found guilty of latest charges (msn.com) What do you mean by old laws? Should they only use laws that were written in the last 3 months?

I would disagree with your last sentence. While Biden's hands may not be totally clean, the stories run 99 to 1 against Trump because the crimes committed by Trump compared to Biden are 99 to 1. So yes, more Trump stories.
