Yeah i've always used Samsungs which are good, price differences are a lot between OLED and QLED, is it worth it?

OLED is better than QLED when it comes to black color. Night or space images look sharper. But the price is MUCH more expensive.

On the other hand, Samsung's software is better than LG's and is more standard, so there are Apps that cannot be installed on an LG.

 

After much comparison I bought myself a Samsung.

I've had three Samsung TV's here over the last decade, and not cheap models either. The latest one is an 85" QLED, while the previous one (now in the bedroom) is 65" Series 9. My experience of these is that the pictures are great, but the Samsung software is flaky and unreliable, plus certain components (like the Bluetooth cards) can be dodgy. It's nice to read about how black the black is on the best TV's, and all the other fancy technical stuff, but I honestly think that 99+% of us couldn't tell the difference between a cheap Chinese TCL picture and a Samsung Nano QLED one for most programmes we're likely to watch. My advice would be to have a look in one of the big TV places (I like the one in Home Pro on Suk, up by Boonthavorn), take a USB drive with the kind of things you mostly watch, and start with the cheapest TV that interests you. Then work your way up to the top models and see if you think the difference in picture quality is worth all the extra money.

Warranty is very important, as many of these TVs can die after a few years.  Some brands, such as Sony, give 3 years while  others, like LG, only one year. 

 

The when it comes to OLED  vs LCD  you should know that OLED performs  better in dark environments and has the drawback of a shorter life time. While LCD with full array backlight come very close to OLED an can be viewed in brighter rooms.

As a "value conscious" buyer I'm very happy with the 65" TCL I got last month.  It was the cheapest 4K HDR I could find that had Android OS (Google TV).

 

I paid 12,200 for the 65".  They do a 75" version but that's about 50% more expensive.

 

It's QLED (not OLED) but the blacks are darker than any other LED TV or monitor I've had, although I've never seen an OLED in real life to compare.

 

I got it from TCL official store on Lazada.  Price changes pretty much every day  depending on what voucher or sale available...

I got a Toshiba 55" from PowerBuy last week, very nice picture, also Android, which I wanted as I use mostly Android apps. Price was 12,400Bt delivered (and we live about 60KM from the nearest store) warranty is for 3 years, and they'll come to us to service if required, which is a very nice bonus is ever needed. I realize op wants a 75" but I'm just giving some recent feedback on Toshiba and PowerBuy.

When i get a new tv Ill not go much higher than 55. Too big for a small room. I take a usb stick with low res video to see how the tv handles upscaling. I check the remote and speed of channel changing and menu system. Take an overall look at angles,crispness,blackness, matness and brightness. Finally warranty length. Anybody wanna crowd fund a new tv for myself?

Some TV's the picture is worse when viewed from an angle, some TV's don't cope very well if there is a constant banner displayed on the TV, some TV's produced blacks better than others some TV's black are more like grey

choosing a tv just on size is like walking into a car showroom and saying I want to buy a car need information such as usage viewing distance from screen is the content that you watching mainly 4k

For 4k Sony suggest you the viewing distance shouldn't be more than 1.4 meters / 4.60 feet for a 75 inch tv

you can still watch if the viewing distance is further away just you wouldn't be able to see the details that 4K brings

Did you see the post last week about small white dot in middle of screen on several very big models on delivery.

 

I insist the store deliver and set it up (easy) and staff don't leave until the TV is working well and clear picture.

 

WHY? About 5 years back bought a 50" LG from big store in Chiang Mai, I insisted staff from shop deliver and set up the TV.

 

Truck arrived, 2 guys put the box on the verandah and were getting back in the vehicle. I insisted they bring it inside and set it up.

 

They tried to say 'not our job'. My Thai adult son told them, politely "you set it up and check it's working or don't open the box and take it back to the shop and I will follow you to get my refund".

 

They opened the box, plugged it in etc., nothing!

 

Son carfully checked the screen and found a pin hole into the screen and then discovered a matching pinhole in the carboard box. Appeared that a very thin  sharp object had pierced box and screen.

 

Son insisted we would not accept the TV and the guys put it back in the box, son followed the truck back to the shop, found the salesman and inisted he look at th box and TV.

 

Supvsr. asked "what's the problem". Staff said "No problem". Son insisted supvr. look at the holes.

 

Supvr. stayed on the spot in the shop, told staff to bring a new box, unpack the TV and plug it in.

 

It worked, Supvr. came with new TV to our house and checked it worked properly then spoke to young assistant with him.

 

Assistant ran out to the truck and came back with a big size boxed micro wave. Gift.

 

We've since bought several Air-cons there, excellent service.

I don't think anyone can say that about any brand

When you see TV on display in a showroom they are normally set for demo mode and all the settings are set for maximum brightness and highest contrast levels

Sony has a pre set picture option on their TV's Vivid

If you watch a Sony TV with picture preset of Vivid it becomes unwatchable are a short period of time more so if the content contains very bright colours this video is a good example

Two weeks ago I bought a 75" UHD LG at Thai Watsadu for 22990B.

Brought it home on my Revo, attacjed the legs and plug it in. Easy.

 

Picture quality on your TV depends more on the quality of the video feed and the setting. I don't see the need for higher priced brands. As a matter of fact, any TV at Thai Watsadu will meet my need.

 

So far so good. I am ready for NFL games .

I always head straight for cinematic settings on TVs or projectors.

Side-by-side on such a setting those LG/Samsungs are still

 

over-reach vs 'the tones of the real world'...IMHO.

I just replaced my old small screened TV. I went to PowerBuy and purchased a Samsung 75" NEO QLED 4K QN95B TV.  And I decided I needed a speaker system too. So I also purchased a Samsung Soundbar HW-Q990B, with speakers & woofer.  It was just installed last friday and I love it. One of the best purchased I ever made.

Unfortunately, Panasonic does not manufacture in-house TVs. They have closed their plants in China, the Czech Republic, and India. Now Panasonic is partnered with different OEM and ODM companies to produce TVs.
