Creating a character other than the "main one" on a keyboard.

I have an Acer laptop which I purchased in Tukcom, Pattaya, last year.

Above the number 7 is the "&" sign, to the right of which is a Thai baht sign. Is it possible to use said Thai baht sign, or is this on my keyboard only for if/when I change the language?

Similarly, there are symbols directly to the right of the "main ones", some of which are what I call squiggles, some of which are not. Is it possible to use those symbols --- or are they also there only for use if one changes the language?

Many thanks in advance.

David.

There is no reason that you can't switch languages whilst typing so you can get a ฿ in with your English.

The Thai language characters are available on my computer in the CHARACTER MAP, without changing the keyboard.

if someone hasn't typed in Thai or other languages before, they won't know how to switch keyboard layouts, it all sounds very complicated

other issue is fonts, if you're typing in something like word the ฿ glyph is not available in western font and might look different to the rest of the text
