Pheu Thai Party’s proposed Cabinet line-up has undergone a last-minute change, which sees former trade representative and seasoned politician Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara tipped as foreign minister in the Srettha government, according to party sources.

The sources say that Parnpree will double as deputy prime minister in charge of economic affairs.

Parnpree, an advisor on economic affairs for Pheu Thai, had been a favourite for the foreign affairs portfolio from the beginning, until the name of Chiang Mai MP Julapun Amornvivat was suggested.  The sources say, however, that the party finally chose Parnpree as a result of last-minute horse-trading.

Good to see they have got a Police General in charge of education. That should sort the shambolic education system out!

Absolutely - should sort out some of the idle practices which have been creeping into the children's foot drill lately!

There are some truly disgusting names on that list, and far too many high-ranking police officers.

You get PT leading the show, along with a lot of other old-line establishment parties. What else was to be expected?

Including a convicted criminal among the lot...

Sure. I didn't mean to say that it was unexpected, but it's saddening and disappointing nonetheless.

Surprises me that the 36 cabinet positions from 6 parties were finalized in just 4 days. The speculation of prolonged negotiation for positions among the 6 parties didn’t occurred. In comparison with Prayut’s cabinet from the coalition of parties coerced together by the junta took 6 days from day Prayut got his royal command. I hope it will mean a willingness to work together for the nation and a new political future with less chaos and colour division. ????
