When you live in Chiang Mai, you don't have to consult your Android or Apple Poop-Map before walking down the street like you do in San Francisco.

Thanks connda for the reminder.  I almost forgot about poop maps!  For those of you who have not been to San Francisco -- poop maps is a real thing.  crowd-sourced data linked to city public works tickets to deal with human waste in public areas of the city.  Only the best for residents of one of the most expensive cities in the world.

You can enjoy life almost anywhere. And as for being with a younger woman. .  It depends on the woman .  In western countries you can have one as long as you have stability and a decent personality.  And a decent income would help also.
The difference in Thailand is a 1000 usd per month income makes you look like a millionaire.

Unbearable heat and humidity, the world’s deadliest roads, dangerous footpath/sidewalk infrastructure and having to deal with roaming soi dogs and loud neighbourly noise at all hours if living in a village.

If living near a coastal beach, the water is hot & shallow and the beach is uncomfortable to sit on due to the hot sand and the hot, humid breezes.
Oh, and the prices for good quality wines are ridiculously high.
Keep telling yourself how “lucky” you are.
