All you can eat/drink hotel buffet recommendations.

I used to go to the Meridien on occasion for this type of thing, La Favola restaurant, and was pretty satisfied but they're closed right now. If I remember, it was about 2k (pre covid) including open bar. Anything like that to recommend, folks?

I'm not big on buffet. It's ok with wife to kill a Sunday but it's always quantity over quality

 

For Thai food try Savoey via food apps.

 

Rama 9 mall. Lots of those type of restys. For lower budgets the smaller malls up the blue line to Pohan Yotin will save (only) a few hundred baht at best (might not be as good). That Central will also be full of options.

Siripanna near Gymkhana Golf Club had a good buffet for 399 baht pre-Covid, alcohol purchased separately. Thai food, cake and ice-cream dessert.

 

The other one I recall is a German buffet, Auf Der Au off Lamphun Road. 299 baht, heavy on German sausages and pork.

I used to quite enjoy Landmark buffet. Food selection was always quite good, both Thai and Western. Less than 2K but no open bar.

Well, you can always get Som Tam for 30 or so baht down any street. That's "hot" food, right?

Gecko bar on a Sunday night was quite good , 220 Baht last time I went , starts 6 PM , all the good foods usually gone by 7 though

Four Seasons Mae RIm has some of the best and most expensive buffets in Asia.  Check it out.

Around 2000 pr person for dinner buffet, and absolutely worth it at Goji bar and restaurant. We had all meals in that restaurant over the years, and recommend you to have a go!

+1 on the Buffet at Goji, Queens Park Marriott Marquis...

 

Best buffet in Bangkok, IMO...    The Prime rib there is excellent.

Thanks all. I'm asking about Chiang Mai for myself but if folks wnat to throw in Bkk stuff, have at it. La Favola was pretty darn good and kind of hi-so therefore a nice break from my usual MO. That's what was half the fun. You felt like you were on vacation somewhere else. Auf der Au is great and a completely diff experience. I see the Centara advertises buffets but not sure about the alcohol drink situation.

Not always easy to spot in which forum it is, but my favourite restaurant in Chiang Mai. No buffet as far I know, but what we have eat from the menu was great, and also great selection of wine and cognac as well Armagnac.

Pretty good variety, very nice atmosphere, reasonably "affordable luxury".

I have had experience of buffets many times, not quite as good as the ones you go to, can't afford it.

James Noble I had the pleasure to enjoy his food in BKK, Hua Hin, and Chiang Mai. He is a bit eccentric and a genius when it comes to design,  and presentation, and some great taste when he used to have his sunday brunches in Hua Hin, or Pranburi.

Try the AYCE buffet at the top of the Pattaya Park tower. Only 500 baht and great views. Can take your own wine as well with a 100 baht corkage charge.

Or it can just be a matter of personal taste. Some people just don´t like buffet, as it is actually food out in the open being held warm or cold for an unknown amount of time. However, I have nothing against a high quality buffet. But, back to the point. Everybody do not think same as you.
