I also disagree with this.

It is the Ops business, a table of people came in to the cafe and negatively disturbed his experience - that directly impacts him.

- Why should the Op ignore something that directly impacts him ?

- If the were smoking inside, would you ignore it and just go elsewhere ?

Taking stinky food into another establishment which sells food, opening it and then eating it is very poor form and the staff should have dealt with that sitaution there and then.

The issue here as that people behaved poorly, the staff ignored it... and the Op decided to make a thread about it.

The Op actually hasn't done anything wrong at all here... he didn't escalate a situation by getting involved etc where as others may well have spoke up and got involved in an argument.

The op is getting attacked by people with some rather poorly thought out and stupid arguments.

My friends' lady has a resort, just a pool, food and drink, him and I were sitting having a chat over beer, we noticed folk coming in with their kids to use the pool, they had their own food and drink.........????

I said they're taking the p_ss, he said I know, nobody says anything, be different if I were running the place......????

Or, if the staff were attentive they'd handle the situation professionally and politely remind the group that no food is to be consumed from outside and do their best to maintain relationships with existing return customers.

Shouldn't that approach be the least we all expect from a business which serves the public ?

not your business, so why care
if your own place you can run it how you please
same for said coffee shop, the owner runs it how they please
as i mentioned already, times are hard, owner may be grateful for the few coffees sold
the shop might have been empty except for a grumpy old ferang in the corner
so the owner might not have worried so much.....
if the place was upscale or thriving with customers it would be different

How strange, you have no idea what I could, or have run, but then again, you seem to have no idea about anything, except  ????..............????

Never had a problem with Chinese till I moved to Thailand. They're animals. Stay clear.
