French guys in their Porsche on Koh Samui?

Featured Replies

What happened to those 2 French (?) guys in their Porsche on Koh Samui? One of them knocked a Thai man unconscious in the middle of the night during a fight.

It happened already a few months ago.

Are they still in jail?

A good topic for a thread...

Also, what happened to the foreigners in so many other stories published on here in which there is loads of online interest and discussion yet zero followup whatsoever?

Yes,  there is virtually no follow-up to a large majority of these stories.  Child molesters, rapists, murders, etc.

Is it all public record?  It would be helpful if there was an investigative reporter who could access

status/disposition/sentencing and publish the information.

Howabout Olaf who chainsawed up the German man, everyone has forgotten about that

I still wonder what happened to that Italian (I think) guy who was banged up for no work permit because he was building boats in his yard.

Perhaps we should open a pinned thread with "What happened to...", so we can keep track on what happened to various criminals and other items in the news about Samui...????

This is why you dont hear anymore.

Because it has been "sorted". Thai style.

They have money so compenstated the victim adequedetly/ paid off the cops.

Nothing to report.

Nobody heard about Olaf.

Look at what happened to Kevin all those years ago....not even a hint of a prosecution.

Not sure if accurate but I remember reading sometime ago on the predecessor forum that often the results of criminal court cases are not released to the public.  No doubt a good reason for that (ahem)

Public record - Probably but getting access may be difficult, don't believe that Thailand has a "Freedom of Information" Act.

If a reporter did get access to the information and printed it, he could probably be sued for Deformation under the Lesse Majest laws for impugning somebody's character.

Nothing to do with public record, FoI, LM or defamation.

It's just another facet of Thai society's innate sloth and indolence.
