Witch hunt against 'Big Joke' persists: Police probe rental properties linked to top cop

The witch hunt to try and destroy the prestigious career of Surachate “ Big Joke ” Hakparn continues after police summoned the owner of five houses rented by the Royal Thai Police (RTP) Deputy Commissioner.

 

Big Joke stated that the owner of the houses is a relative of his and that the relative is a businessman, not an online gambling operator.

 

According to Amarin TV, five houses raided by Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB) officers two days ago did not belong to Big Joke. All five houses are owned by a Thai businessman known as Tam and his wife. Tam pays a community maintenance fee, estimated at 142,000 baht a year, and Amarin TV said Tam did not collect any rent from Big Joke.

Big Joke later revealed in an interview with several media outlets that the houses where he and his subordinates lived to Tam. Tam is not a biological relative to him but he respected Tam as a family member.

 

He rented two houses from Tam, one for himself and one for his father, for 50,000 baht a month. Big Joke did not explain why Tam also let his subordinates live in the other three houses.

How convenient a relative owns all five houses as men live in them I guarantee you if you really checked into it delete be in his wife’s name or his cousins name. He probably has many houses, not in his name, but he controls them. He’s as crooked as all the rest of them TIT

It is very hard and very unlikely that a police general in Thailand involving himself with so many facets of the Thai justice will be a 100% without a fault even if he wanted to, the question is, how deep or how far his nefarious dealing went, i personally think that he's as good as they come and the best Thailand can hope for in a police general...

The article that you didn't bother reading states who is the actual owner of the houses.   That you don't believe the report is your issue and your "guarantees" mean nothing.

No this is the same as the last time he was going to break something.  This is the politics of corruption.  First Pita got it this year then they went after the MFP Then Srettha now they are ging after Big Joke.  

 

The only one that is untouchable is dying of cancer so they can't do much.

 

Consider this raid as having done its job preventing him from the post where he could do the most damage.  

 

Once this blows over or the MFP gets into power I would not want to be anyone associated.

Here's a conundrum

 

If the people who are doing the investigating are unusually wealthy should they not too be investigated?

 

If the judges, lawmakers and politicians are unusually wealthy should they be able to investigate anybody until they have been investigated?

 

If thew entire system is a cess pit of corruption, dishonesty and nepotism should it be in any position to pass judgement on anybody?

The OP report is clear as mud....

 

--the houses are owned by a "relative" who, later it's said, isn't really a family relative at all, but a vaguely described "businessman."

 

--BJ supposedly isn't paying any rent to the "relative" for the houses, but later the report says BJ rented two of the houses and paid the owner 50,000 baht per month in rent (not clear if that was per house or total for the two).

 

Of course, other prior news reports immediately after the raids claimed that BJ was the owner of the 5 houses in BKK....

 

Who knows.....
