How do you stop a dog peeing up any post or wall they feel like? Support animals are a scam, total fraud. The only support animal which should be allowed in a store is a guide dog for the blind, but do not recall ever seeing one in Thailand. Dogs in shops is unhygienic, even the cleanest dribble all over the place and are a health and safety risk, leave the things at home.

That's one opinion.

I used to go to K-Village specifically because they allow dogs.  Not that I had one.  But I missed my dogs that I had to leave behind when I came to Thailand.  It was nice to interact with well behaved dogs, meet their owners and talk schnauzers.

My bet (and apparently Lotus's too) is that for every baht that avoids the place, more baht will be spent because they allow dogs.

We'll see. They're only testing it on a small percentage of their total stores.   But it seemed to work well for K-Village.

So if dogs do not go into the Tesco/Lotus's food store, what happens to the dogs when the dog owner wants to go into the food store.

Can wait, and have a Tab outside,  like most normal  dogs do.

Are these people for real? Just gave me yet another reason not going there for shopping.

Maybe it explains the "s" when they renamed the stores to       Lotus's ????

Dogs welcome at Lotus.

Where can they be found? In the sale or with the frozen products!?

They are going to have many Vietnamese clients

Most every store in the US allows customers to bring their pet dogs in the store with them.  Been doing this for about 3 or 4 years now.  Nothing to see here, move along.

So who is at fault when an innocent customer is bitten by a dog - the owner or the store ?

Sadly the EN option only covers half of the heading.

So no idea which branches to avoid

Why you would need to avoid branches? You think that from now on every lotus will be full of dogs?

Those that are encouraging customers to bring their pets -- yes

Oh God,  Do I have to see another idiot pushing their dog around in a baby stroller why I do my shopping.  I think I will import a Great Dane and side car to drive him around in just to see their expression when he leaves a monster size deposit in the middle of the store.

You always can take a plastic bag with you and pick it up

My Lotus has the chicken and other meat uncovered, laying out where you pick it up with tongs to put in a plastic bag. I'm not going to buy something that may have been licked, bit, chewed, or slobbered on by some stinky hound.

If this happens as you suggest!

I’ll be breaking the Thainess rule,

of saving face, by expressing my displeasure to Management!

My wife wont be happy !

This idea is ludicrous!

I think most Thai dog owners are just to irresponsible

for this to be a good idea.

Leave the dog at home and go shopping. :coffee1:

A list of the affected stores is here:- https://corporate.lotuss.com/news/corporate/pet-friendly-mall1/

Sadly our local one is on it ????

Thanks for the list. I rarely go to the local Lotus's big store because of geography and traffic. I was in there the other day at 8 AM opening and walking through the mall corridor, I noticed either MK or KFC had a sign at the corridor entrance saying NO DOGS -- I thought that was odd. Why would there be a dog in the corridor?

But then I read here of the policy.

Really, I suggest you do a little more research Sir. Just a few of the infections dogs carry, which are easily passed to humans.......

Pasteurella, Salmonella, Brucella, Yersinia enterocolitica, Campylobacter, Capnocytophaga, Bordetella bronchiseptica, Coxiella burnetii, Leptospira, Staphylococcus intermedius and Methicillin resistance staphylococcus aureus

Think about that the next time you see a dog kiss its owner after licking it Ar**.

Also get from a human. Be careful of them bar girls

Use Google Translate like I did ????

I know it's an artifact of Google Translate, but this one made me smile: -

Sorry, I'm a dog owner / lover, but in food stores (even if in a bag/whatever) no way José!

Yes, keeping a dog's nose out of the displays and preventing a leg-lift over the corner will be difficult...  an unhygienic scenario.

That said, during a hot season there was always a dog sat at the back of my local 7-11, near the chilled meats, which concerned me. The staff told me it was the owner keeping an eye on things.

LOL. I like it. I caught something from them years ago. It was diagnosed as slim wallet syndrome, symptoms are drunkenness, lack of memory, and a lighter than usual wallet....:burp:

Why because they are unclean? I could catch a 1000 things from you that could kill me. Not one from a dog except Rabies

@AhFarangJa has already called you up on the numbers, but even if your claim were true, the big difference is that @Crossy is much less likely to jump over you with dirty paws (without any prior invitation) then proceed to slobber all over you or, indeed, all over the products that you may choose to purchase.

I will not be shopping at Lotus any more. I doubt they'll miss my custom, unfortunately. I'm sadly pretty sure that this will appeal to far more people than it puts off.
