Fake brand-name products and smuggled goods on Facebook pages using the name “KING POWER” were shut down by Thai police, confiscating more than 15 million baht.

On September 29th, 2023, Pol. Col. Virapong Homhuan and a police squad conducted extensive searches for counterfeit products and smuggled goods in 7 locations from 3 provinces: Bangkok, Samut Prakan, and Samut Sakhon.

As a result, there were counterfeit products found from famous brands such as perfume, handbags, and shoes.

nope ...  next comes the photo shoot of the excavator in the police carpark crushing all they confiscated minus a few copy rolex's for the relatives up country.

Exactly how many officials in the Thai import/customs are losing their jobs for allowing Thaiiland to be the hub of Fakes from china ? They either need better training of their bank accounts checking

Bad quality is not always in fakes. Many local retailers sell non branded goods, at high prices,  that end up to just be crap. Mainly the furniture stores.

Did they owners of those products pay 15 million?

Or is it more likely that they paid under 1 million and tried to sell it to dealers for double that and the dealers tried to sell it one by one to idiots with a huge profit margin.

Many articles contain numbers like that which mean nothing without telling if that is the manufacturing cost or the expected retail price on the street.

...... And for resale in Pattaya.

Some years ago King Power was accused of selling fake goods in the airports. So who knows what this is in reality

I would replace the word "fake" with "imitation". Anybody that buys a Rolex watch for $50 ,unless he is stupid, knows he is getting an imitation. Why do these high price suppliers feel threatened , maybe the cheap stuff is just as good?

I doubt this was about fake Rolex, but more about the stuff that is sold on Lazada and Shopee, as being brandname stuff.

The last 6 months I have more returns than anything else.
