In a recent online incident, a Facebook user posted a photo of a sign situated along the Pattaya Beach coastline in Bang Lamung, Chonburi province.

77kaoded reported that it was the actual wording on the sign that sparked a heated debate, featuring the phrase "ห้ามกระเทยยืน," which was roughly understood as "Transgender individuals are not allowed to stand."

This image swiftly generated discussions and gained widespread circulation across social media platforms, resulting in misunderstandings among certain individuals.

Upon investigation, on October 18, 2023, at 01:00 AM, Royal Thai Police Lieutenant Chawalit Suwannamnee, Deputy Superintendent of Pattaya City Police Station, personally visited the location depicted in the picture.

It was revealed that the image had been manipulated, and the sign was originally part of the Pattaya International Bikini Beach Race 2023 event, with the text added later.

This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of verifying information before reacting to social media posts.

I count at least 14 cops in above picture. Are they worried about poster assaulting them? I could ask why aren't they doing something/anything useful, but that's the broken record here

They are invisible most of the day but produce a camera & the photo-cops swarm out of the woodwork.

The photo opp. took place across the street from the Soi 9 police station so not much trouble to stage it.

IMO this sign would be far more appropriate in Pattaya!

Or, consider never even looking at social media.

That has worked wonders for me over the years.

I believe the police must be spending an inordinate amount of time on social media, else they would not keep finding all this trivia to rush to and investigate.
