"I suppose as usual I am out of the mainstream step. I fully support Putin, I think he is the world's leading statesman who makes Biden look like a village idiot. I think his war in Ukraine is entirely justified and when he meets his maker (if there is a maker) he'll come out just fine. The Lavrov/Putin team is exceptional, no diplomatically phrased lies just cold hard facts about the US that the propagandised west cannot understand. Ask one of your friends what are the rules od "rules based order". No one knows, they have never been discussed, agreed or published from any forum.

Then look at the back-ups. The west better hope that Putin doesn't get sick because Medvedev will finish the war in two days (OK a bit shorter that Donald Trump will???????). The Russian have leadership in depth and the west has, well Rushi, or Emmanuel Napoleon, or Scholz, or god forbid, Biden and Blinken."

Well said, I believe Stalin and mao. are left out.. But, spot on..

Stalin and Mao are ancient history my friend, why not mention Hitler or Bismarck.

A turncoat and a bobolyne.........Do not forget to ARREST  this INTERNATIONAL WAR CRIMINAL

What a wonderful word, which I had to Google. BOBOLYNE is an old Tudor word for a fool.

Also as good are Lubberwort (a lazy, stupid person = Bob Smith) and Cumber world or cumberground is someone who is useless. Wonder who we can apply that to.

Interesting scenarios Putin visiting and an all out fiasco for Thailand. My guess, Putin says thank you for the invite (but it will not take place).

Putin has accepted the invitation for next year, try to keep up

Many of said Thailand was getting an anti-Western PM and kept telling you Prayuth was better.

Never heard that before. When the former unelected soldier PM staged an illegal coup in 2014, what would have happened if people already in government tried to stop him??  Would there have been a bloodbath? Would the soldiers have backed down? I don't think so.

well we arent getting it right at the moment, are we?

may as well try something radical and new.

People have a right to live wherever they wish.

The planet belongs t. o all of us and none of us at the same time.

Do you think you should have more rights to travel and relocate over someone who was born in say Somalia or Syria?

S'all right .

It's all happenin a head of time !

Well there is the small matter of Putin having an international arrest warrant on his head for being a war criminal, whereas   Biden doesn't.

Sleepy Joe and his gang have enough trouble with the law back in good ole' USA.

I will just join the rest of the thais who dont pay tax

As a farang, it could lead  to the airport for deportation, with a nice brown n'golden wing uniformed-clad escort. I would not take the risk to break the law even if you may be right...if you don't mind.

And the USA on the other hand are arming and financing other "dictatorships". So it's a balance. Who cares if Russia deals with Thailand ? What the majority here are rightfully worried about is the tax changes next year and if long stay tourist visas will be given with less hassle to quality european tourists (90 day visa exempt).  Buying Russian oil will lower inflation in Thailand and that's what matters.

So really you are concerned about what affects you only?

Why do you expect 90 Day Visa Exempt? You can easily apply for a visa.

Tax is an expected issue for all of us and to date I see nothing that's says retired will be effected.

As for oli, Russian Oli is not going to reduce inflation at all, rather assist the Russian Dictatorship.

Putin has accepted the invitation for next year, the Thai's did a bit more than fence-sitting in WW2 Thailand officially adopted a neutral position during World War II until the five hour-long Japanese invasion of Thailand on 8 December 1941, which led to an armistice and military alliance treaty between Thailand and the Japanese Empire in mid-December 1941. At the start of the Pacific War, the Japanese Empire pressured the Thai government to allow the passage of Japanese troops to invade British-held Malaya and Burma.

Don't disagree. I would be very surprised if Putin actually lands in Thailand. He's paranoid about being assassinated, understandably so.

Sorry to barge in but visa issues do affect a majority of foreigners in Thailand who don't give a sh** if Putin comes or not.

Fine, but I feel we have many Visa choices, from long stay, to 90 day or 30 day or Retirement, family Visa, and border runs etc.

Of course its very annoying about taxation, many foreign residents do not pay tax in their home country or here, but then complain, I understand, but Thailand want some taxation.

Remember its their country and we are welcome under their rules.

The sooner we get to a global world order instead of these tit for tat nation states the better. I personally don't consider myself a citizen of any particular country, I am a citizen of the World and I want a global passport system with free trade and movement for eveyrone.

Thats how it should be. Instead of judging each other by our differences in race, religion, ethnicity and the like - if instead we are all part of one global community then I think the likelihood of wars arising for arbitrary reasons would be greatly reduced.

And who would you have as the world president,

Trump, Xi or Putin? just to name a few.

Because Putin is an international criminal, murderer and destroyer... Not only outside of his country, but mostly inside as well...

There is no draft at Russia now. Draft was announced at September 2022  and this created a load of negative consequences, so the government shut it after a month or so.

Don't be so naive. It has always been there this or that way. "Cannon meat" hasn't finished yet...
