Where's home ?

Featured Replies

Continuing with silly topics, as just saw a post, 'When I move it's back home.'

If you live here in TH, where do you consider home.  Me, it's PKK, TH.  When O&A, and folks ask, 'Where you from?"  I say 'Prachuap'.

This is home, where I've been 23+ yrs, almost as many as my adult life in birth oountry/USA.  I don't consider that country/USA home, and if I left here, doubt if I'd return there to live.  Maybe a long 1 year visit, check out all the National Parks, but that's it.

I've owned just as many houses (w/wife) here as USA, and bought 5X as many new cars here, more MBs, and actually accrued as much money, or more, I think, as my salaried jobs in USA, which isn't a good thing, when I think about it.  Only shows how little my jobs provided 😂😭

So where's home ?

Same here,

Home is where my stuff is , and for a few years now my stuff is in Thailand.

I am going back to the US for christmas with my daughter , but that's not where my home is. If It was not for my Daughter and sister there I would probably never see the US again.

Bangkok is home.

There is no other city where I lived as long as I live here.

And on a recent trip to the country where I grew up I kind of felt like a stranger.

Inside my head & where my library and my b/f are. Which is now - more or less permanently, till death do us part - in Thailand.

Texas is home to me. New Jersey was home before that. This is home now, but has never felt like home. That's why I'll be moving asap.

Went back in 2003, for a couple months, caring for mother as she made the transition to then next dimension.  Then in 2006 for a long weekend, for legal business, and couldn't wait to leave.  Really felt like a visitor and not home at all.  Would have been 1 day, if I didn't have to stay over a Friday for the excursion fare discount 🤣 as only 'needed' to be there on Monday.   Flew in Thurs. left Tues.

That was your 'quote' in OP.

I've felt more at home here, than anywhere.  When in USA, I moved around a bit, for work.  Never really in 1 house for more than 3 years there.   Every house here/TH, (2) has been longer, and not going anywhere soon from present house.

Home is absolutely where I am living now which is Rural Buriram.

I had to stay (due to health issues) in Bangkok for almost 3 months and I couldn't wait to get back home.

Luck has it, that after the prolonged stay in BKK and I finally could go home a bigger health scare (Retina Detachment) happened which caused us to go to Bangkok again and I only was home for less then 2 weeks ☹️

Edit: Had to stay in Bangkok again for 1,5 months 😞

Or where your penis is

You can't win with this one.

Thailand is home to me and I have no other.

But to immigration I'm a glorified tourist on a short leash.

To anyone else that asks here and I say my Thai place, the answer is usually seen as rude or cagey and the implied reaction is always where is your REAL home f-rang!
