In fact, I don't know what you are on about.....🥴 Be honest, I'll bet you Googled the term I used to see what it meant. The difference is, I don't need Google for the words I use. 1

save the frogs Posted October 26, 2023 Posted October 26, 2023 this thread shows that the biggest problem with being in any foreign country is not the locals, but the animosity between the expats. 1

Agreed... That said, I'm sure many people would be quite different in person. The barrier of a keyboard allows some to start triggering people with dumb comments... Goat managed to kick that off in typical fashion when shoe-horning a 'brit-bash' out of thin air on the first page. The Op isn't far from the truth either... people everywhere voice their opinions about things they dislike or find unacceptable, some nationalities and cultures fit slightly varying stereotypes about how confrontational they are when addressing these complaints, with some nationalities and cultures ill equipped to handle direct complain and criticism, while others handle it better. 1

No, because they were whining about the food, the weather, and the fact no-one kissed their a#se in deference to their imaginary superiority. You guys should be grateful for Australians, if it wasn't for us you might still be fighting WWI. 1 1 1

observer90210 Posted October 26, 2023 Posted October 26, 2023 (edited) Everybody can complain, it's as humain as breathing. What matters is how you complain. The tone, attitude and body language you use. And in this area, many foreigners in Thailand are rather clumsy in handling. I prefer the complain-explain dogma. Mainly when dealing with non-Thais in service-providing businesses or real estate issues. They can tend to be as bad or worse then locals in handling and fixing the issue. I am afraid but you are right. But there will always be as]]]les all over the world. Your instinct is obviously your best defense. I just say "sure" whatever when the discussion get's ugly by me standards...and never get anywhere closer to such toxic individuals. On any forum or social media, I do the same and plainly introduce such fine chaps on the "ignore" list at the first rude comment, and file closed. 🤣 As we say, don't speak to fools, you will make them them smart🤣 1 1

That's what keeps it entertaining. Far better then those 50 line posts from the wanna-be, specialists, bankers, grammar scolars or political analysists, thinking they are in a general assembly conference giving a brillant speech. Start deleting comments and numbers of visitors and posters will drop line the rain outside. Edited October 26, 2023 by Middle Aged Grouch 1 1
