Outlaws Thailand gang leader arrested, 150 million baht assets seized

Officers from the Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB) arrested the leader of the Outlaws Thailand criminal gang at a luxury condominium on Soi Sukhumvit 55 in Bangkok for operating online gambling, human trafficking and drug trafficking. Assets worth more than 150 million baht were seized.

 

Following measures to crackdown on online gambling in Thailand, the CCIB discovered a website, UFAV8, allowing gamblers to participate in football betting, slot machines, and other types of gambling. An officer conducted a further investigation into the site and managed to identify the main operator as a 41 year old Thai man, Paramate Tangsakun.

 

Officers conducted a raid at Paramate’s condominium, Eight Thonglor Residence, yesterday November 1. Paramate presented himself at the residence and revealed to officers that he rented the condo at 150,000 baht per month.

During the raid, officers confiscated Paramate’s assets worth over 150 million baht including a Chevrolet Camaro, Mercedes-Benz S500, Harley-Davidson Softail Springer, Harley-Davidson Ultra Classic, Triumph Rocket, 45 luxury watches, gold necklaces, valuable amulets, designer brand bags, two shotguns, and a pistol.

Along with his massive collection of toys this guy was making serious money and no doubt whatsoever came to the BIB notice long before this.

when the German guy , who was involved with the outlaws , was killed and later dismembered with a chainsaw ,( Mr. Mack , I believe ), I recall they said the boss of the outlaws was a foreigner .

Actually running these operations is not as easy as one would think.

There would be a long trail for them to follow if they don’t get paid off beforehand which is likely the case

Kind of surprised if he is the actual leader of the Outlaws.
More likely the Chapter President of the Bangkok Chapter.
Most of the foreign outlaw MCs like the Bandidos, HA and others have foreigner leaders, though some local chapters may have Thai Presidents.

(Basically you have a number of local chapters which can have 5-8(+) full-patch members who fill the President, VP, Sergeant-at-Arms, Treasurer and Secretary positions, as well as a number of prospects and "hangers-on" or "support clubs". You also have a "national council" and President that co-ordinates the activities of the local chapters (and international business).

A few years ago the Outlaws were making the news after being involved in certain "incidents" in different parts of the country. They even made their presence known at one of the Burapa Bike Weeks when a large group of them stood outside of the Bandido tent and stared them down. (Basically challenging them to "do something" but nothing happened of course.)

And it was just last July when they busted the "leader" of the Pattaya Chapter of the Outlaws after the murder of that German property flipper. They said he was Austrian though someone else said Australian. However, 4 of the 5 others they busted were German (as was the victim), so I'd suspect he probably was Austrian. 

I think it was last year the cops in Pattaya busted an online gambling Op. They showed a photo that looked like a couple folding tables and chairs and racks on the wall full of smart phones. Like 6 rows of 15 phones (or thereabouts).
Those guys also had wads of cash and a bunch of luxury cars on the premises. (No mention of gang affiliation though.)

As for legalizing casinos - one of the biggest advantages of them is - they allow criminals to quickly and easily launder vast amounts of money. You walk in, buy a million $ worth of chips and walk out minutes later with $800,000 in "winnings" free and clear. ("Winning percentages" will vary from place to place of course.) And now with crypto currencies (a criminal's best friend) that money can be anywhere in the world in minutes.

(Or, if the casino is owned by Trump and in danger of being foreclosed by the banks for failure to pay the mortgage payments, your daddy can send a trusted associate to buy $3 million worth of chips and then walk out without making a single bet (and "forgetting" his chips as well). Instant $6 mil profit. $3 mil straight into the bank and $3 mil in chips that can be sold again.)

Imagine how much money they could launder in a place where the authorities are even more "user friendly" than in most Western countries !

(The biggest hold-up to legalizing casinos is probably the infighting over who will "control" them to make sure they are doing things "properly".)

Without a conviction.  Who is the criminal gang here?  I have no sympathy for these idiot gangs, but when the government "siezes assets" it is no better than a common thief.  The laws invented to "prevent gang violence" are always turned on the common citizen in the end.

This is allegedly also part of the way govt also raise money, same with the regulators regularly going around suddenly announcing investigations and imposing percentage of revenue penalties on large companies.

 

Imagine it is govt who end up profiting off the proceeds of crime.
