Brings back fond memories, when I was in Luang Prabang, when I declined the opportunity to travel by fast boat to Chiang Rai via Huang Xai on the Mekong.

There were no seats, so you sat on the bouncing hard floor with your knees under your chin for six hours.

 

I understood there were no comfort stops though helmets were optional dual purpose.

 

 

 

Our construction foreman's hobby was building and furnishing boats. Some for racing, like these, some old style oar jobs (for catching certain kinds of fish, and for resorts). Wish he had half the care and interest invested in these when working on the house.
