Popular Post quake Posted December 2, 2023 Popular Post Posted December 2, 2023 There was one wire dangling down in the middle of the road at the start of Jomtien beach last week, it was still there the next day, with some plastic wrapped around it TIT. 1 1 1 2 1
Popular Post Guderian Posted December 2, 2023 Popular Post Posted December 2, 2023 I wonder if those timorous Chinese tourists who were scared off coming to Thailand by a film are reading all the stuff about nasty accidents happening to foreigners lately? If so, TAT should downgrade its Chinese arrivals forecast for next year from 9 million to maybe 9 thousand, lol. 1 3

Popular Post Noah K Posted December 2, 2023 Popular Post Posted December 2, 2023 It was only a matter of time. Eventually, the communication industry most fix what is a very dangerous situation waiting to happen. It's visual pollution and it really needs to be addressed. Another situation simular to the pollution/smoke issue. Lots of talk, very little action. 2 2 1
Popular Post Stevey Posted December 2, 2023 Popular Post Posted December 2, 2023 It’s his own fault. Shouldn’t have been Norwegian, shouldn’t have been in Sattahip and shouldn’t have been riding the กayest scooter available. 1 1 2 4
Popular Post Bangkok Barry Posted December 2, 2023 Popular Post Posted December 2, 2023 Same old, same old. Has anyone accepted responsibility? Did the reporter seek a comment from whoever was guilty of leaving the cable there? Meanwhile, the government talks of making sure the country is safe for tourists. Hot air, as usual. Same old, same old. 6 1 2 5

I have one dangling on the Inside of my 1.5 high fence for 40 meters. our whole road is a complete mess of hanging TOT cables. I did contact TOT months ago and asked them to send their technicians out with some more string but they never came. 2 2
Popular Post pookett Posted December 2, 2023 Popular Post Posted December 2, 2023 If a private company owned cable, it could be an interesting law suit. Cut the cable, see who comes to repair it.... 1 1 1 1

Sig Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 Dangling cables on the roadways are another aspect of Thainess that takes acculturation to appreciate properly. Once that is accomplished, one will no longer accidentally drive into such cultural artifacts. 1

All the data cables to our street were severed by a PEA employee using huge shears/bolt cutters. Everyone complained to their respective ISP's. In our case, it took three visits over four days by AIS before our internet was restored. Could it be that the cable in question does not belong to Telephones Of Thailand/National Telecom?
John Drake Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 Had a cable like this slip down in front of my house in the village. Called my housekeeper and she actually got somebody to come out and fix it within 15 minutes.
maddermax Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 Hope he takes the power company to the cleaners. This is an occupational hazard when driving around Thailand. 1 1
Classic Ray Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 The problem is the lack of a safety culture backed up by a policy of not enforcing the law regarding neglect accompanied by large damages awards and prison sentences. Whilst I would not like to see Thailand become a litigation crazed society, there is certainly too much protection of large companies and rich individuals at the expense of the generally poor victims.
malibukid Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 up here in CM they are hanging down on the sidewalks. the stupid phone company repair men do not clean up their mess. 2

Phuket Pete Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 Bury them now. Dangerous and very unsightly. The first sign of a third world country. It's claimed that half of these cables are dead anyway, but no one was ever given the instructions to remove them.

digger70 Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 Terrible, Who in Satans name is going to get the communication/TV/Internet companies to be held accountable for those accidents and make those companies take down their cables that are not in use anymore .
