Ongoing Issues with My Ford Ranger F4Max 2021 - Seeking Advice

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

I'm reaching out for advice regarding my Ford Ranger F4Max 2021. It's been a frustrating couple of weeks since an orange engine warning light appeared. I took my vehicle to a Ford dealership in Chaiyaphum on 12/16, only to be told that a specialist from Bangkok was needed for diagnosis.

A week later, they informed me of a turbocharger replacement. By last Monday, my patience was thinning, and I requested a loaner car and mobile service, as per Ford's policies, but was deflected. They claimed the turbocharger was replaced and needed testing.

To my surprise, the Ford Center in Bangkok revealed that the repair officially started only the previous Thursday, contradicting the Chaiyaphum dealership's timeline. Today, they've found a rat's nest and damaged cables in my car and mentioned that parts need to be imported, as my vehicle is an imported model.

The situation raises several concerns:

  1. Potential overlooked of the rat-induced damage initially.
  2. The dealership's inspection two months ago reported no issues, questioning the thoroughness of their checks.
  3. The turbocharger's failure seems unusual for a car that is only two years old, especially given my moderate driving habits in Thailand.
  4. The eligibility for a "Like for Like Loaner Car" as per Ford Thailand's policy was not honored despite my request.

I'm worried about future repair costs post-warranty expiration in ten months. Any advice or similar experiences shared would be greatly appreciated.

The rats nest was probably built while car sitting in the service centre.

They didn't find it 1st time because it wasn't there.

I reckon they be bull<deleted>ting you on the imported thing.

What are the first 3 letters/number of your VIN.

Post em up and I will tell you where it was built,

When?

A problem with the Turbo should have been very noticeable driving.

Warning lights are usually faulty sensors, or a rat cutting the wire to a sensor.....
