You think you have an actual democracy in the US? LOL. I can't think of any western country that has actual democracy, though Switzerland comes the closest.

I know we have a Representative Democracy in the United States ,maybe you should think smarter. 555    Maybe you need a refresher on the types of Democracy. "actual"   Methinks he means Direct.

True democracy is where the citizens get to have a say in policy. When was the last time your government invited your opinion once they had the keys to the mint in their pocket?

Calling a country democratic is meaningless when North Korea can be called Democratic People's Republic of Korea!

My US Rep asks my opinion monthly and I'm invited to her town halls. Our concerns are discussed in an open forum.Every two years we have the opportunity to vote her in or out of office. So the last time was last week.

You are lucky then. I've never been asked for a contribution by the <deleted>s that run the countries I've lived in.

Does that apply with every Rep in the entire USA? If so I might have to change my mind about the US political system.

Countries with "Democratic" in their name!

People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka!

How many of them are democratic in the way you say "the citizens get to have a say in policy"?

The giveaway is that if the country has democratic in it then by definition it is probably not democratic!

Most probably reach out on a regular basis to their constituents.   I had  a passport issue years ago and my Rep solved it very quickly.  You can call/email  your rep and someone from their office gets back  pretty quickly.  The people have the power to change but many don't vote  .  The rich have an unequal say and influence   Citizens United.

You're kidding ...

No. You made a claim that was not stated as an opinion, so the forum rule applies. No link and it's not true.

Any alleged factual claims must be supported by a valid link to an approved credible source.

You are fortunate then.

The rich always have an unequal say, IMO.

It's open public record, go waste someone else's time.
