Wood is an electrical insulator.  A wooden walking stick would NOT ground anyone unless it was wet.

A metal walking stick with a plastic or rubber tip will also  insulate anyone from the ground.

Again - he was nto talking about electrical grounding.

OP was looking for a stick to aid in walking in soft ground. A wooden stick was suggested as preferrable to metal in that instance since it will be able to sink a bit into the ground.

In his subsequent post he made it clear that he was referring to the healing effect of Earth's natural electricity. Some people believe it.

Any single footed walking stick will sink into soft ground. Two, three or four footed sticks will sink less  as the same weight is distributed over a larger area

A single large foot of say, 10 cm/sq, is better than three feet that have say 2 cm/sq giving a total area of 6 cm/sq.

Get a forearm crutch. Much stabler that a walking stick and you can use both hands without having to lay it down somewhere.
