Medical evacuation doesn't always go well - Utapao news report

Spotted in The Guardian newspaper:

 

A medical evacuation flight from Utapao to Russia crashed in Afghanistan, killing 2 of the 6 persons on board. The plane was carrying a Russian woman and her husband.

Depending on the patients condition, commercial airlines can refuse to allow passengers.

If they ran out of fuel, that is a big screw up as would have needed to top her up en route. They don't have huge range.
