snoop1130
According to the latest report from the Department of Disease Control (DDC), a staggering 718 patients were admitted to hospitals between January 14 and 20 in a skyrocketing surge in Covid-19 infections. The grim statistics reveal a grim reality, with the death toll soaring to 11, a stark contrast to the four reported just a week earlier. The average daily admissions reached an alarming 102, showing a disturbing 12.9% increase in the past week alone. Of the 718 admissions, 209 battled serious lung infections, while 149 required life-saving ventilators. Disturbingly, six of the fatalities had never received a vaccine, while five others had completed their two-dose vaccination schedule. Shockingly, 45 patients dependent on ventilators had not been vaccinated, raising concerns about the vaccine’s protective efficacy. Adding to the urgency, the Medical Sciences Department identified the predominant culprit behind the surge as the Covid JN.1 variant. Symptoms include coughing, muscle pain, sore throat, headache, and a runny nose. However, no evidence suggests that this variant is more severe than others, reported Thai PBS World. The virus has evolved, so depending on 2 year old vaccines is pointless. Thailand should have updated vaccines to deal with future variants of the virus. 2

A howler. Really. Terrible reporting or non existent proof reading. There has been a nasty flu bug going around our village with many catching it myself included. Sore throat, fever , lots of coughing up of phlegm and even a weird chill period with my teeth chattering from cold . Other usual symptoms. Three home covid tests all negative. I was only rough for a day and a night but the wife got it from me and has been really bad for 3 days. Just better this morning. I am just wondering if the home testing kits can detect any new variants. Edited January 24 by Denim 3 1 2
webfact
JN.1 Omicron sub-variant linked to surge in Thai hospitalisations by Mitch Connor Photo courtesy of iStock The JN.1 sub-variant of the Omicron Covid-19 variant has been implicated in a recent rise in hospitalisations and over 10 fatalities last week. The majority of those hospitalised were elder individuals who had not received a vaccine or booster shots. The Department of Disease Control (DDC) reported 718 fresh Covid cases last week, yielding a daily average of 102 new cases, with 11 fatalities through to the week ending January 20. This figure presents an increase from the preceding week, which saw an average of 93 new cases daily. The DDC also reported four Covid related deaths that week. Of the 718 cases recorded last week, 209 patients developed severe pneumonia, and 149 of those required endotracheal intubation. As per the DDC, all the fatalities last week were from the 608 at-risk groups, primarily elder individuals with chronic conditions. Six of the deceased were unvaccinated, while the others had received only two doses of the vaccine, reported Bangkok Post. Popular Post dinsdale
"........all the fatalities last week [11] were......primarily elder individuals with chronic conditions." I wonder how many people in this category died last week due to complications from air pollution, complications from the common cold, organ failure, cancer etc,etc etc. My guess is way more than 11. 1

Anyone remember "Get vaccinated and you won't get sick"? Or, "Get the shot and you can visit grandma"? They've changed the goalposts so often that a huge percentage of the people don't trust them. And probably won't for years. Exactly. Mandated shots from companies like Pfizer (who paid the largest ever criminal damages fine in history), Moderna (who had never brought a vax to market before), and the only immunity granted by these shots is to the manufacturers, for any injuries caused by these one-size-fits-all 'products', rushed to market despite there never was a successful viral "coronavirus" vaccine ever developed before 2020. The only excess deaths worldwide have been since 2021. Go figure. 3 1

All it does is create unwanted angst among an already highly stressed society. Test the entire world population right this minute and several hundred million will be infected with C19. Those that perish typically have underlying issues and might also die from a cold. S happens, but we seriously need to move on from this tat! 2
Photoguy21
How about some context? Are the people affected suffering from bad health before getting Covid? What is the age of the people infected? This could end up as a cold is looked on as a killer disease which it isn't. The post seems overly dramatic. This time of the year people catch colds.
