Document Requirements For Non-Thais Taking Domestic Flights

Featured Replies

New Domestic flight requirement for non-Thai passengers
Please be informed of the regulation from The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand on January 16th, 2024, all non-Thai passengers flying on domestic flights must provide their boarding pass along with one of the following documents.
• Passport issued by the state of the nationality of passport holder (Original)
• UN Laissez-Passer (Original)
• Travel Document for refugees and People Seeking Asylum issued by the United Nations or by the government of issuing countries (Original)

If non-Thai passengers traveling on domestic flights lose or are unable to present their identification documents, they must provide one of the following documents.
• Emergency Passport (Original) or Emergency Travel Certificate (Original)
• Non-Thai ID Card issued by the Department of Provincial Administration of Thailand (Original)
• Driving License issued by the Department of Land Transport of Thailand (Original)

Does a Thai not have to present their boarding pass together with their ID Card?

In your second paragraph, the documents/cards you mention are classed as ID evidence

Now that is very clear .  Maybe it is the Pink Card.

Totally confusing post.

The OP does not deal with Thai citizens at all.

So what does the second paragraph have to do with Thai citizens?

They show their Thai ID card (or passport) and that's it?

It's worth mentioning that this has been discussed in a news thread already.

Not sure why this has to be started again in a Chiang Mai thread?

This topic has been covered by the news team already. Make sure when you book your ticket all your given names are listed. When you get your boarding pass ensure all the given names are on it. If not speak to the airline before proceeding. The security will not allow you to proceed unless ID and and boarding pass are exact matches.

So in reality, ALL passengers must present some form of photo ID to board an aeroplane.

Why should it deal with Thai citizens, the title says non-Thai?  Topics about Non-Thais are permitted
