On January 29, 2024, Pattaya city's emergency responders swiftly reacted to a distress call reporting an attack on a tourist within Soi Pattaya Sai 2, Soi 11, Nong Prue, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province. The rescue team, joined by volunteers, promptly arrived at the location to initiate an inquiry.

At the site, Mr. Kyoung, a 29-year-old South Korean national, was discovered with head injuries and facial bleeding. Immediate first aid was administered before the injured individual was transported to Jomtien Hospital for further medical attention, reported Siam Rath.

According to eyewitness Win Jiyu, who was delivering passengers in the alley, he witnessed the victim being attacked by two Russian nationals.

The assailants inflicted severe injuries, resulting in facial bleeding. Following the assault, one attacker fled towards a hotel, while the other disappeared down the alley. Rescuers assisted the victim, revealing that he was a Korean national proficient in the Thai language but physically disabled on both legs.

The attackers targeted the victim due to a dispute over the cost of a massage service. In spite of the severity of the incident, the victim refrained from filing a complaint, concerned about potential reprisals from the assailants who had issued threats of additional harm if authorities were alerted.

Sounds like he needs a good massage to get over this ordeal.

The Russian Mafia is now involved in the massage scene?

No. from the article and the pictures it is clear that it happened in "Soi Honey" (less known as Soi 11)  in front of the soapy massage.

Maybe the stupid Vladimir's had read that a massage cost 300 Baht allover and being excited to be asked for a tenfold price?

I assume the victim is working for the parlor (Thai and Korean language makes sense).

What is the Korean's relationship with the massage shop?

Koreans and other Asians are carted to soapies in bus loads.

Part of the package.

So it's good to have a doorman/receptionist who speaks Korean.

The articles says the victim is a TOURIST, not a worker at the "massage" place.

And a "tourist" has a dispute with Russians about massage prices?

And the Russian threatened to come back on him?

Not everything in such articles is to the point. Maybe the victim has no work permit? Another reason not to call the police.

Not sure but the implication (whether true or not) is that the Russians were in the role of running the "massage" business.

Perhaps his legs are affected from a previous customer complaint.😋

Can any of the Pats crowd shed light on the Soi honey shops? Are they sketchy, or are they upfront on costs?

This soapy is the only one of this type in Soi Honey. Not a shady shack like many others there. Can't tell whether you pay upfront. But the prices are usually made very clear in soapies before the deal (1600 to 3000 and more).
