Popular Post georgegeorgia
Last time I was in the Philippines last year I went to browse in a gun shop. Being from Australia only the criminals have guns here including the police criminals. There is some places in Australia where it is not safe at night but we can't carry weapons The gun shop owner in the Philippines advised me I could get a gun licence etc etc after doing his gun training and to cut a very long story so long I could write a book or make a YouTube channel but I was fascinated I was thinking if I was a American I would carry a gun and move to places that allowed a gun. This is more for our American members but did you believe in carrying a gun and did you ? Thailand seems to have strict gun laws for foreigners Philippines it's possible Vietnam I think the same Cambodia allowed for foreigners I will need to retire when I can carry 2 6 3

Yes & Yes, with legal permit to carry concealed. Never really needed, even living in some crap neighborhoods, or putting myself in situations, most would not. 3

In Australia, my late teens I had rifle 308 Bruno, Mossberg 12 Guage pump action and a Bentley 12 Guage pump action. I handed them in when the government had the buy back, no problem, I didn't want to keep them illegally. I work for an American company offshore, lots of Americans, I asked some of my colleagues why they owned so many guns, all replied that there main concern is the government. Quite sad 😔 3 1 3
Popular Post JohnOFphon
When I was 15, I bought my first rifle. 22 Caliber 15 shot tube feed. Real nice gun. My friends and I would go out into the dessert and shot rabbits and birds, and the occasional diamond back rattle snake. Since we couldn't drive legally, we would stand at the side of the road leading out of town. Stick out thumbs out,,,,and someone would pull over and give us a ride. Cross over the Pecos river and walk away from the road We were all carrying guns. and the drivers could see them. Just felt like reminiscing good ole days. 4 5 1 2 1
retarius
I don't know about foreigners but Thais can get legal guns easily. They are expensive, though, a 9mm Block G9 is about $3000 (100k baht) with the paperwork vs around $500-600 in the US (although there has been inflation since and panic buying driving up the price as some political moves to restrict guns take effect). Ammo is cheap here and available.

Popular Post fredwiggy
Many years hunting and owning rifles, shotguns, bows and crossbow. All for hunting. Sold guns for years with federal license in sporting good store. Wanted a handgun for hunting but never got around to it. Had one Smith & Wesson .357, gave it to my brother. When I return to Texas, will probably buy a handgun or two. 1

Popular Post Gandtee
In civilian life you only need a gun if you live in the sticks to provide food for yourself and family or to reduce the number of animal predictors. And sports shooting maybe.

Popular Post Patong2
I've shot competitively for over 60 years and plan to continue for a few more yet. Pistols, rifles and shotguns. Over that time I have met thousands of shooters and hunters. I cannot recall any of them ever being charged with a firearms offence. Criminals will always get guns no matter what the law. In the 1980's the toughest gun laws in the western world, that we could find, were in Northern Ireland and look how useless the law was. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:1980s_murders_in_Northern_Ireland Edited March 2 by Patong2 2 1 1
Popular Post pgrahmm
Yes, I wish I had held onto my Dan Wesson .357 & companion Marlin .357 carbine....Those were my 2 favorites..... I've had a few other guns along the way.... We ended our last trip in Texas (family) & I went gun perusing but lacked the necessary time in state..... On our next trip I will pick up a couple to have as we RV around along with any necessary permits.....I have the models picked out....Throughout our trip to 8-9 states I spotted many open carries = it didn't bother me one bit..... If I'd had any, I probably would have done more boondocking. ....The only semi useful things I had were kitchen knives, a survival knife, a machete, and a fire extinguisher..... My wife supports the idea of available firearms & questioned why we didn't have one..... We were, at times, in the wide open spaces as far as the eye could see in any direction..... 5 2

Envy you your planned trip. Used to do a yearly USA trip Montana down to Texas and wherever. Not being a US citizen I was ineligible to buy a gun and you are right some of those roads are real lonely and you would be a bit vulnerable if stranded. Highway 50 in Nevada we thoroughly enjoyed but we never saw another vehicle. Would have been more comfortable with my CZ 9mm than the can of Bear Spray we had. 3 1 1 1
VinnieK
My personal opinion is that you need to go back to elementary school.😱 Stringing a sentence together seems an impossible feat for you. On the subject at hand.. I believe most ppl are dumb fux. Handing out guns to them (or drugs)? What could possibly go wrong. ..and what about oppressive govts, cry the ' liberty' crowd. Life on earth will suck for as long as this gig continues. Overthrowing corrupt govts just brings in the next batch of corrupt and hungry for loot, scoundrels. Had to present it 3x -twice to begin to fire on attacking dogs (their owners jumped on their dogs quickly ) once to prevent mugging in Philadelphia. Never needed to fire ; just the display of the weapon brought quick action by the offending parties. 3

Popular Post Danderman123
I lived out in the country, had a .30-.30. Never know when a bear would show up. It must be hard for you to understand the mind of a hunter, being one who thinks we are sick for hunting, and eating , the game we shoot. Are you a meat eater? If so, you might want to check out how your meals are kept, and then killed. If a vegetarian, then I'm sorry you will never understand this. We don't kill for fun, at least the majority of hunters. We are in the woods to enjoy life in it's purest form. We don't kill every time we go. If we kill, we have the meat processed and then either have meals for us or family and friends, or we donate to homeless shelters so they can have something to eat. 1 1 1
