Since the new laws I drink much less, and feel much more relaxed, just my personal view,

I can buy 10 grams of decent weed for B300 online, sleep really well, and wake up refreshed with no hangover.

Would appreciate a link please as I would like to buy some. Price sounds very good.

He says and states a lot of things he wants to do as if he has sweeping dictatorial powers. He also told the BOT to reduce interest rates multiple times and yet they haven't. Outlawing cannabis will be very difficult for him and his party to try and pull off without support from the coalition. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prawit Wongsuwon, and Somsak Thepsuthin won't support it and it would be a big loss of face for Anutin if he were to make cannabis a criminal narcotic again. The 3 are also all big power players in government and with large vested interests in the cannabis industry.

And Srettha sits in Parliament without a single vote from the public. Very wrong.

Because it makes people dumb.

It will be fine in declining Western countries, not for an emerging country in China influence circle like Thailand.

probably I guess they need to rise the price and quantity of sold weed so what is a better way than make it illegal? as with any other thing that became illegal the consumption will increase.

The same boring, redundant, tired, old argument I've seen posted in these forums countless times. Then comes the barrage of posts explaining how alcohol and cigarettes, although legal, are far more destructive to mental and physical health than cannabis. Although that is 1000% true, I'll let someone else grab the mantle and repeat what has already been explained countless times, but never seems to sink into the heads of the anti-cannabis cabal.

Let’s see…just had the famous  “water festival” multiple days/nights celebrating, partying, driving back and forth to mama….lots of accidents, deaths injuries attributed to cannabis…and just saw in the local news someone who was using cannabis, flew into a rage and kill their family members….

OH!!! I’m sorry… I’m WRONG…

that was caused by alcohol and drunk driving!!!

Govt just extended the “Alcohol Drinking Times”…

Absolutely. It does so many bad things like make you feel good, happier, more relaxed and relieves pain, nausea, makes things like sex, food, music and various other things more enjoyable; I mean who wants any of that right? In fact, everyone who uses cannabis should just switch to alcohol and cigarettes and they would be so much better off right, don't you think?

Weeeell, I enjoy all those things without puffing dope, so are you telling me, dope puffers are lacking something...............?

I'm not telling you anything about weed smokers. In fact, there is no need to even puff dope to consume it. Various cannabinoid delivery methods available. I'm only saying THC makes certain things feel "more" enjoyable. But don't use it if you don't want to. Nobody will care either way. You do you boo.

Actually, recreational weed isn't "going to be banned again", as the words of Anutin himself make clear “Thailand will promote cannabis policies for medical purposes. There has never once been a moment that we would think about advocating people to use cannabis in terms of recreation – or use it in a way that it could irritate others” - recreational weed was never commercially legal in the first place.

2 groups persist in their denial of this simple fact - the pipedreamers and the petty capitalists.

"Recreational" weed and its derivatives above 0.2% THC were not legalised in the decriminilisation bill, which focused on medicinal use (ie very low THC, much too low to get stoned). Home grown weed for non-commercial use was a grey area.

Medicinal weed is far more useful to the Thai export economy than recreational weed, given the legitimate  global expansion of the former.

As for tourism, adding drug tourism to sex tourism is not a step in the right direction, as my friends in Amsterdam would confirm.

Taking drugs to make things like sex, food, music and various other things more enjoyable is short sighted and dumbass. How about living the natural way , ie happy without having to put drugs into your system... using drugs doesnt lead anywhere good in the mid to long term. Sure getting high is fun and fine short term but it catches up with you , dont you think?

Clueless, but a firmware update might fix the problem.

Even more clueless and has a hardware problem. Thus, even a firmware update can't fix the problem.

No, but you seem to be. I've met many people over the years who are completely tweaked and seem to have never even taken anything.

It's more than that, it's a sign of a dependency issue.

The opening post on this thread claims that weed is not addictive, but that depends on the definition of addiction. One common definition is that a drug is addictive if it builds a tolerance, and weed definitely builds a tolerance. This is evident from the pursuit of ever higher levels of THC.

The frequent comparisons with alcohol are spurious. Many drinkers don't drink to get drunk, but by definition stoners use weed to get stoned.

I have no moral position on weed at all, I used it for a long time back in the day and again last year. But a lot of people here are unaware of the legal background to the bill and what was actually legislated for - and in Thailand that was definitely not recreational use, as my quote from Anutin makes clear.

I still don't get it ... what is wrong with adults having recreational time? what's wrong with tourist buying products that makes them happy and high?

Isn't recreational fundamentally the same as medical? isn't recreational also good for your body and mind health? why do people flocks for tourism, are they having recreational thing?
