Huge street battle between Thai and Filipino transsexuals being probed

Scenes on Tuesday as Immigration Bureau police officers visited one hotel on Sukhumvit Road in connection with disturbances on Monday night and Tuesday morning. Hotels and businesses in the area categorically denied any knowledge of illicit activities. However, police are focusing on a large group of Filipino transsexuals who arrived recently, at the same time, in Thailand. Significantly, no charges have yet been brought over the clashes.

Authorities probe violent clashes in Sukhumvit. Filipino trans workers under scrutiny. Concerns over visa abuses and organised crime. Tourism Minister reassures that the impact will be minimal.

On Tuesday, Thai officials, police and even a senior minister were conducting a post-mortem on serious disturbances in Bangkok’s popular Sukhumvit area. Beginning on Monday night and extending into the early hours of Tuesday morning, large groups of Filipino and Thai transsexuals did battle on Sukhumvit Soi 11. The conflagration saw multiple injuries and complaints filed with nearby Lumpini Police Station.

 

On Tuesday, Immigration Bureau Police and Tourist Police were probing further into the nature of the large groups of Filipino transsexuals who appear to be regular visitors to the area. Senior police suspect that this may be part of an organised racket linked with the sex industry. In addition, there are concerns that it may be orchestrated by influential people or criminal mafia groups.

 

In the bustling streets of Bangkok’s Soi Sukhumvit 11, popular with many Western tourists, tensions flared on Monday night. The incident extended well into Tuesday morning culminating in a convulsive street battle. At length, a chaotic, violent and expanding brawl erupted between Thai and Filipino transsexuals.

 

Afterwards, there were quite a few reported injuries.

The disruption prompted an urgent police investigation. In particular, into the apparent influx of Filipino sex workers.

The incident, which occurred in front of a hotel, marked the first openly confrontational clash between the two groups.

 

Police and Immigration Bureau officials probe immigration status of the Filipino transsexuals. All arrived from the Philippines on 30-day tourist visas

On Tuesday morning, it led to concerns over immigration violations and illegal activities.

 

In short, seasoned police sources suggested the involvement of an influential racket. The importation of Filipino transsexual prostitutes into Thailand using tourist visas.

Social media was buzzing this morning over the clash between Thai and Filipino transgenders in Sukhumvit Soi 11 last night. The incident was given various names, such as ‘Battle of Angels’ and ‘Kratoey Thais go to war’.

 

‘Kratoey’ refers to some members of the LGBTQ+ community in Thai culture.

 

The confrontation between Thais and their Filipino counterparts, which began on Monday night and continued through to early this morning, was streamed live on many social media platforms, capturing the attention of many viewers.

I was there recently, sitting in a bar on the Sukhumvit with a few mates, Saturday afternoon drinking beers watching the traffic, commuters and listening to the rain falling. 

 

The video is worth watching, police protecting citizens, ladyboys climbing over people to attack, clumps of hair ripped out heads, I saw a passport ripped to shreds.

I couldn't believe the cops got right into the middle of that brawl as opposed to whipping out the sticks and tasers and going to work. Oh I'm so depressed I missed that action. Those ladyboy fights are so interesting, sort of a combination of men throwing punches and women hair pulling and screeching. I remember about 9 or 10 years ago I watched two lady boys fighting in front of the Thermae, and then some dumb British guy got between the ladies to separate them and they beat the <deleted> out of him. Lot's of ladyboys/trannies from regional countries go to Thailand for plastic surgery and medical treatments because of the cheapness & quality compared to their own countries

Many of these have to work the sex trade in order to pay for their operations and hormones.  This is why there are not just Philppinos, but ladyboys from Laos, Cambodia, China, even Japan working in the LoS.

I assume the local ladyboys do not appreciate this competition.
