See how quickly Israel backed off when Iran showed they meant business. Don't think we will see Israel take such a chance again.

Iran is the head of the snake, the head of the axis of evil, but Israel has never been scared of it and never will be. Did you miss they killed one of the main Iranian leaders in a targeted attack in Syria. He helped organize Oct 7th.  Plus another eight officers of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps were wiped out in the same strike.

Not so Trans.

Once the Iranians showed what they were capable of doing, that off-shoot of the conflict all died a death.

Don't agree with you Brian.

IMO, the head of the snake is the US, with yappy dog UK, hanging in there.

On 1 April 2024, an Israeli airstrike destroyed the Iranian consulate annex building adjacent to the Iranian embassy in Damascus, Syria, killing 16 people, including a senior Quds Force commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Zahedi and seven other IRGC officers.

The US and UK protecting freedom!! just a joke.

The US is the world number one aggressor, and perhaps giving the nature of modern weaponry, the biggest threat to mankind since we (humans) first came into being.

Yes, the only hope for humanity is that Iran, Russia and China can stop them!

The meeting was called by Algeria for a new resolution vote: Here is some of the text:

Algeria on Tuesday proposed a draft UN Security Council resolution that demands a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, the release of all hostages held by Hamas and essentially orders Israel to “immediately halt its military offensive” in Rafah.

Algeria’s UN Ambassador Amar Bendjama said earlier Tuesday — after a closed-door meeting of the 15-member UN security body on Gaza — that the aim of the move was to “stop the killing in Rafah.”

The Algerian draft text, seen by Reuters, “decides that Israel, the occupying Power, shall immediately halt its military offensive, and any other action in Rafah.”

I will wait with baited breath on Hamas to agree to release all hostages.

What Algeria said at the meeting as quoted in my post, I like you wait with baited breath for some changes from the occupying power.

The representative of Algeria said addressing the crisis in Gaza without tackling the root cause — the occupation of Palestinian land — will not lead to lasting peace.  The Security Council bears primary responsibility in this regard and must fully implement all relevant resolutions, including resolution 2334 (2016) which states that settlements are illegal and a violation of international law. Meanwhile 800,000 settlers now live in the West Bank, terrorizing Palestinians, destroying their structures and “judaizing” Al-Quds and its holy sites.  Algeria will submit a draft solution urging the Council to shoulder its responsibilities, he said, calling for its support.  “Waiting for the occupying Power to voluntarily abide by international law and Security Council resolutions is pointless,” he added, noting that after repeated attacks on UNRWA and a failed attempt to discredit the agency, the occupying Power is considering declaring it a terrorist organization, thus removing it from the Occupied Palestinian Territory.  Warning against this move, he called on the Council to protect the Agency and for the Organization to support the Palestinians’ rights to an independent State with Al-Quds Sharif as its capital.

   Jews "Judaizing " Jerusalem ?

As Al-Quds /Jerusalem was 100 % Jewish before Muslims took over the land , it could be said that Jews are taking Al-Quds back from the Muslim invaders

Do you believe that once the shooting stops that Palestinians will just live happily ever after among whatever is left of Gaza?

As long as Palestinians in occupied territories don't get a viable solution in either own sovereign state or as citizens with equal rights to Israelis they are going to resist.

Palestinians will keep fighting until they get what they want , that is why they cannot live peacefully on the land and that is why they need to be removed from the land

I read it, why did you think I had not? So I will continue to  wait with baited breath on Hamas agreeing to release all the hostages. They have refused every time so far with UN security Council Resolutions and hostage/poisoner exchange deals

Funny that, I wonder when Israel are going to comply with UN security Council Resolutions, they have years of catching up to do.

Israel is not and never has held hostages that have been raped and abused, children, babies in dark tunnels in Rafah. Your link is also off topic, all bar two are from well before Oct 7th, the last two were impossible to comply with as Hamas refused to release hostages.

Maybe not in Rafah but then we'll never know because of a lack of International free press present.

Plenty of evidence at the Sede Teman facility in Israel though.

A CNN investigation has uncovered the horrors of a shadowy detention facility where Palestinian prisoners are blindfolded, handcuffed and forced to wear dirty diapers. Watch Matthew Chance’s full report.

“Hamas has been holding our hostages in Rafah, which is why our forces are operating in Rafah"

Want the war to end?
Tell Hamas to free the Hostages and surrender.

Great idea, but what then go back to the same situation as before 7/10, or will we see something else?

How can anything ever be the same, what a silly remark

You know what China does in other countries? Invest in infrastructure. You know what the usa does? Builds a military base and ousts the leaders via coups and destabilizes the entire region. Again and again and again…

Also, anyone who doesn’t bend the knee to usa has false propaganda spread about them on the media. While Cuba, North Korea iran etc may not be perfect, they are far different from what we are told.

You are joking of course, as you and others on here frequently say no war before 7/10 but as soon as I say great idea, as in release all the hostages in Gaza, then ask the question of what happens next if it did happen, go back to the status quo of before 7/10 then I'm being silly, give us a break.

Nonsense, things will never be the same, fact! No matter how much you try and twist the truth.

I agree with you on that, Israel lost the popularity vote there big time.

New data shared with TIME from the business intelligence company Morning Consult shows that support for Israel around the world has dropped significantly since the war in Gaza began.

Net favorability—the percentage of people viewing Israel positively after subtracting the percentage viewing it negatively—dropped globally by an average of 18.5 percentage points between September and December, decreasing in 42 out of the 43 countries polled.

Israel didn't enter a popularity contest, it was attacked by terrorists, away with your lame off topic deflection. 😴
