I quite often read tosh on here but that's the biggest load of tosh I've seen for a while. Define 'young girls' - if you mean underage, fair enough but the vast majority of young girls in the bars are of legal age.

The vast majoirty of the girls that work in the bars aimed at foreigners do so of their own free will.  If you check on where the majority of trafficked and underage girl are found - you may note that its in the entertainment venues aimed at Thai and Asian customers, often in Northern Thailand.

Part of 20+, 2 Russian ladies, Anna and Olga, on March 4, 3rd floor of a hotel at Phra Metta Road in Patong were arrested for prostitution. This was reported in other media. There's also a facebook post by Phuketandamannews that has more details.

He's actually right as far as human trafficking is concerned. Thailand is a huge hub for it, and sadly, a lot of officials are involved because it's big money. Many girls that are prostitutes are forced into it by traffickers. They could also make make any kind of sex illegal for foreigners. But, technically, right now, a Farang lady having with her partner, could be considered as illegal work.

It is Illegal in Laos for a foreigner to have sex with a Lao national.

It used to be, if you had a Lao G/F you could not stay in the same room at a hotel, I remember years ago some farang getting hammered for it $6000

Intimate relationships between Lao citizens and foreigners who are not married are illegal. This includes sexual relationships and living together. Marriages between Lao citizens and foreigners must be pre-approved. If you don't register a relationship, authorities could fine or jail you.

My memory is that when asked where she could park her motorbike the night-desk guy said just leave it here in the lobby. Then again she wasn't my G/F.
