The debate thread.
I absolutely disagree with the complaint that the moderators ganged up on Trump. Trump's supporters seem to have forgotten that a journalist has a duty to deliver factually accurate information. The two biggest fact checks were the question about Haitians eating pet dogs and the legality of post delivery "abortions." The misinformation that Trump was spreading about Haitians did serious damage to the reputation of the Haitian-American community, and the misinformation about post delivery "abortions" grossly distorted what current abortion law in some US states was, in front of not only a national but international viewing audience. These misrepresentations went well beyond one candidate misrepresenting the other's policy or taking his/her opponent's record out of context, and the idea that if the moderators didn't fact check Harris an equal number of times made them "unfair" is ludicrous. -

Any advantages to retirement over marriage visa?
If in Pattaya, you need 15K in an envelope (no receipt) to do that immediately - retirement or marriage - though the "official rules" say what you said is true. If in CW, they do it "by the book" without the payoff, but ... I'd get a Non-O 90 day from a Thai consulate, if at all possible, to avoid applying for the initial 90-Day in-country. It is also easier to open a bank account with a Non-O visa-entry, which avoids the "chicken egg" problem created by recent bank-policies - "you need a bank account to apply for the Non-O, but a Non-O to apply for the bank-account." Just be sure to get that visa for the same reason as you will use for your 1st extension - marriage or retirement. -

Any advantages to retirement over marriage visa?
Yes, but they don't follow the rules - is the problem. They did at first, but then changed to demanding you had must have been transferring money every month for a year before you got here. There were more detailed examples in published paperwork at the time, allowing a few months of xfer for a 1st extension. Nothing was said about that being temporary. You could arrrive, open a bank-account, start xfers, border bounce to get a few xfers under your belt, then apply for the Non-O. But, with those SANE transfer rules for the 1st application, not enough people were being pushed to their "no financials required" envelope-agents, which defeated the reason for blocking embassy-letters in the first place - and for changing the 'in the bank" seasoning requirements to the byzantine system in-place now. -

Thai immigration online 90 day reporting system
Thanks for the reply, Pib. I also registered for onlime submission years ago. As I mentioned in my post, my email exists in the system. As a matter of fact I was able to submit my online application. And no, I didn't recieve the Email Verification Weblink incuding a spam folder. Which TM 30 should I fill out? -

BANGKOK (NNT) - The Gumball 3000 supercar rally is being hosted in Thailand from September 17 to 20, featuring over 100 luxury supercars. Driven by more than 220 global celebrities, the convoy will journey through 15 provinces: Sa Kaeo, Prachin Buri, Chachoengsao, Samut Prakan, Bangkok, Nakhon Pathom, Ratchaburi, Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani, Krabi, Phang Nga, Trang, and Satun. A key event will take place at CentralWorld in Bangkok on September 17, sporting a supercar exhibition and live music. Another highlight will be a charity football match on Koh Panyee's iconic floating football field in Phang Nga province on September 19. In addition to its focus on luxury cars, the Gumball 3000 rally is expected to benefit Thailand's tourism sector and support local economies by channeling income to communities along the route. The event provides an opportunity to attract high-end tourists and further enhance Thailand's reputation as a host for international events. Both participants and spectators are urged to observe traffic regulations to ensure a safe and smooth experience. by Krajangwit Johjit Source: NNT -- 2024-09-14 Get the ASEAN NOW daily NEWSLETTER - Click HERE to subscribe -

Are you "all in" in your relationship?
Hmmm interesting question to ask. Unless you are in a 'transactional' relationship I think most couples would say, whatever it takes. Me and MrsG are similar ages, 50/60's so who knows what happens in the future, health risks increase exponentially as we get into middle and old age, unfortunately to say So in our blended family, Thai son, American daughters would sure as sh**t hold both our feet to the fire to take care of each other if, and we wouldn't, step up to care for one another. The kids are all in their 20/30's brother and sisters, aunts and uncle to the grandkids, so we're a pretty tight family. So the idea of any of us abandoning anyone is unthinkable, so I guess we are 'all in' Now if you're shacked up with a bar girl, she'll probably dump you after a bad cold, or an ATM 'insufficient funds' -

Trump Harris: Who won the debate ?
That's true, however, Kamala Harris lied repeatedly about Agenda 2025 being Trump's agenda, that the Covid pandemic was caused by Trump, I mean ludicrous obvious lies. But she was not called on them. Why not? If you could answer with facts rather than rhetoric drivel, that would be much appreciated.- 1
